Drone finds something strange...

My first attempt to use Openshot Video Editor, and I'm not too happy. Some of the transition functions don't appear to work properly. Probably my error. The 4K transitions looked bad, so I converted the 4K to HD and uploaded that. I'll be trying again. The drone shoots 4K, which Windows Movie Maker won't load. I was going to start shooting my race footage on 4K, but I'll have to get a lot better with this editor before I do. I was trying to see if I could find my hog traps using the drone and somehow wondered off in the wrong direction. I spotted this object and it looked like a 5 gallon bucket with a carry pole laying on top of it. I was suspicious, so I decided to try to find it. I got on my ATV and headed back to where I thought the object was and put the drone in the air. Luckily, I found the object again and just let the drone hover over it. I could hear the drone but couldn't see it for the canopy of the Oaks. I finally found my drone by looking through the treetops and discovered this old feeder - a 55 gallon drum with frame and a winch. I'll try to fix it and put it to use along with my other feeder.

Thank you for the comment and I hope you enjoyed the video. I haven't developed a whole lot of skill flying drones. I've lost three of them to "flyaways". One flew away with a GoPro camera on it, never to be seen again. It's rough losing a drone like that - let alone three drones!

LOL, thanks, sorry it wasn't more interesting. I thought is was a 5 gallon bucket with a marijuana plant. That sort of thing is not unknown in these parts where people will put their plants on other people's property. I'll try to do better. Thanks for the comment, though. Maybe you'll find my AC Cobra racing clips a little more to your liking....

Well Hack, I'm kinda glad I didn't find bigfoot. But, when I saw that object, I thought I had found a marijuana plant....LOL. From that height it looked just like a white 5 gallon bucket with the carry pole still attached. When I first saw it, I couldn't believe how big it was. It was a 55 gallon barrel. Question is, if it was that close why did the drone operator not move close to ground level as the tree shaking was taking place very close to the highway and the timber did not look thick at all. But, it just staid in the same place not showing anything but the tops pf the trees swaying violently. Hec they cold have gone right down on top of it just above the trees if they had wanted to.

What type of drone do you have?

DJI Phantom 3 Professional with the 4K cam. Only had it for a few months. Before this one I had several Cheerson 20's. I Kept having fly aways with them and was getting pretty frustrated with them. I had the chance to buy this DJI from my cousin and jumped on it. There is no comparison between the DJI and the Cheerson. This DJI is very reliable. I live in the country surrounded by Oak hammock, so I frequently lose signal to and from the drone. So far, this one has always come home. And the video is very good at 4K, but you will need the monitor in 4K as well to view it properly. What have you got? I checked out your channel - no uplinks yet?

Andrea Victory - I get it. Some people don't see the unique perspective that a drone brings you. A lot of people, though, love looking at drone footage. Seeing the ground and trees from up above is somewhat magical, and pleasant to look at. Sorry you're not one of those people, but thanks for giving it a shot, and a comment.
