It will only be software based. You can get the tello drone it is easily available.

If they have a python sdk you can use. But most drones don't.

What hardware will one need to follow along? And can one get along with this course alone without getting the previous courses?

It will just need a tello drone and some diy skills. Although you can follow along with the new course without the previous ones, We recommend to do atleast the first free course available on KZbin.
