Right? I was thinking earlier this year that "FPV" has hit a technological plateau. And here comes DJI with the biggest thing to happen to fpv in years. Never second guess DJI. Honestly. But I pay respect to all of the companies who have hung in there with their time, money, testing, and research to further innovate our sport. Many have quit on us. But the ones who have hung in there have helped us elevate by the end of this crazy fucking year. 2023 is looking good for fpv.

@@dronecamps FPV is so new, it's only up from here, it's just getting started as far as advancements go. That's what I loveee about this hobby. We still have 5G drones yet to show their face and the bvlos laws to come about. I dream about driving someplace beautiful, leaning back in the driver's seat and just flying around for an hour, exploring at 1080p or even higher one day.

Yeah Dude! 100% True! I will upgrade my both Chimeras 7 soon to O3. One is my have fun Drone and the other my Long Range Mountain surfer. I hope O3 can keep up with the Range of Air Unit V1.... There are many good Kwads out there but with the Chimera 7 is like true love. Had an amazing time with it and lots of great memories.

Can you test the signal using the DJI FPV Controller 2 instead Crossfire? I’ve heard that o3 syncs with the controller also.

There are still problems with it. If you lose the camera feed you also lose the dji Fpv controller for 5 seconds. I'll wait on that test my friend.

I presume that your footage was the EIS smoothed (by default) O3 on-board recording. Did you see much jello in the live feed? It would be nice if you showed the live feed recording from the goggles.

You should definately not use the controller 2 from DJI, You should ideally get a radiomaster radio (boxer or ts16x) with either ELRS 2w or cross fire. If you set your O3 air unit up properly (settings) with an ND filter, the footage (i think) is as close to Gopro that most people wouldn't notice. The 8000mah lion if you want maximum flight time.

I was thinking about heat dispersal. In the vintage computer restoration videos, they sometimes use a Computer RAM chip heat sink. The heat sink is very small to fit the RAM chip. This kind of solution may be apropiat with some modification for the Drone chip. Thermal grease the metal heat sink with a small drive belt to hold the thermal solution onto the board. So I needed stick time and got two C7 first gen frame kits . One kit to build one for parts . But of course I build two flyers lol what a suffering learning curve for the old man . End of summer I finally broke an arm . One megs tough bird the C7 is ! I run extended landing gear and belly mount batts , way better flying experience. It won’t work with goggles v1 with the O3 air unit. The tx16s would work but you have to have a crossfire or elrs receiver module on it and get that rtx on the drone when you order it

I do RC plane chases with my DJI FPV drone. I like it just fine. But it tops out at about 85 miles an hour. I'm looking at this drone as a replacement for the higher end chases. I only judge by 2 things. Speed and endurance. Can the 5,6, or 7 do speeds in excess of 85 and maintain them for a flight time over 4 minutes?

Hey man, do you know where a buzzer could be placed so you can still reach the button when you disconnect the battery? I have lost a chimera 7 while doing long range and I got to the place where it crashed but without a buzzer it was impossible to find. I am getting a new one with O3 soon and I really need a buzzer with battery in there cause I lost 1200euro because I lost it with the Hero 11 black and a 5euro buzzer could have saved me, but when I look at this drone I see side panels everywhere making it hard to reach the button everytime you disconnect the drone. Thanks

You may need to drill a hole just big enough to get a bamboo skewer in the hole to turn it off with the 3 sec hold.

Range and penetration should be fine with the DJI RC. You will be limited with customization for things like audio alert’s and other things you will get for the other receiver.

Well... long range crowd has flown TBS single antenna RX for about 8 years. It will be ok. Trust me. I've sent this same RX into the deepest Oregon canyons and returned safely to my feet.
