Dronelink - autonomous mapping, for DJI Mini 3 Pro - Part 1 of 3

Dronelink is amazing once you get it to work - this is a 3 part series and by the end you will know how to create 3D maps using your Mavic Mini 3 Pro.
(This does require DJI RC Pro Remote Controller )
Will with try i-phone in future videos. Photogrammetry with DJI is really seamless now. Would be nice if DJI added autonomous flight capability into it's softer on the receiver. Right now this is one solution.

I use WebODM and process the images locally on my 5950x/rtx4090. I then upload the asset file produced to another instance of WebODM running in AWS to let customers see the data with their own private login.

Hello! I am PhD student and i need budget friendly drone do to some mapping for my PhD thesis! I ordered Mini 3 PRO do you think i can do decent maps (mostly orthophotos) with it? I choose it cuz its 249 grams and my research area will be in urban areas.

So, your client would need their own installation of WebODM? Have you tried exporting your processed data/maps into any other viewer for them to use? WebODM isn't necessarily an easy install for the casually computer literate client who may not want to learn separate software just to view your data set. Unless they pay for the installer, but still not very convenient if they already use something else.

If you upload your project into Maps Made Easy and create a classic project it will generate a 3D url you can share with your client. www.mapsmadeeasy.com/maps/public_3D/d885e3ace281482aabb92c6a2faa1d02/ If they have their own software the classic will also generate a file they can download and open into their own software.. @@How-to-by-Lou So this map was shot with 48mp shots, but the map provided is considerably less detail. Are there ways to keep the details? At 200 ft and 48mp, we should just about be able to count blades of grass.

I have the elite version and I don't find it easy to adjust you're double grid. Like you're grid it is diagonally on the field . Also if you use a double grid, the startpoint from the second grid is not always correct. And if you want to do 5 grids for a 3d (4 oblique 1 nadir), change the grids and startpoints..wel not easy for me doing that in the field even on a laptop...

not sure.. have not tried it yet. It's still in beta and not sure I want to try it on a really expensive drone. Sometimes it flaks out on the mini 3 pro.. Not sure would it would do on the Mavic 3

I am assuming this doesn't work with the DJI RC - Remote Controller for DJI Mini 3/DJI Mini 3 Pro? I have the 300$ controller only and am wanting to perform photgrametry...any help appreciated.

The dronelink app is really robust. The processor on the controller you have may not work. But you do manage to get it on there. You won't have any guarantees. If you have an android phone you could do the beta.. www.dronelink.com/download Could always get a cheep android phone. Manual isn’t possible when you need 4000 pics. Cant believe they released SDK for mini 3 and not Mavic 3 pro. Ridiculous.
