Awesome vid. Mines an XS809 H-W-D (no G marked on box) 3 x batteries, bought maybe 6 odd years ago, found in storage, I'd forgotten about it. The batteries were still holding some charge! Scanned the QR code in booklet and the XSW UFO app came straight up and loaded OK. Thanks for covering the basics as it'll be my 1st go at a drone.

Learned to fly on this drone. Loved it! I agree 100% with this review... Lots of fun to fly. Wish I hadn't sold it! I should note that I did have some durability issues - but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The SD card reader got sucked back into the body of the drone (had to disassemble to fix.) Lost one of the analog stick pads while flying (just popped right off, never found it.) And the power button on the transmitter got stuck in the ON position once. Managed to fix all of it and had a blast flying.

Great review! I bought one about 3 weeks ago (would recommend getting one with extra batteries) and it’s a great learner drone. Certainly not up to par with a $300-400 drone, but good deal for the price. Thanks for posting this!

Nice review, I thought I read somewhere that the sd card feature did not work and the footage was all saved to phone? If that's the case I would go for the Eachine 58.

I just got this drone, and I was Soooo frustrated with the battery charger. I cannot find any pdf spec sheet for the battery and their "charger". Since Li-po are known to be volatile, I am hesitated to charge this at all because I don't know if they have voltage regulator and overcharge protection built in. Can you share your experience about charging the drone?

Charging it is no problem at all, it's quite reliable although you have to leave it charging for quite some time I recall!

What was your charger's rating? Or did you just plugged it into the USB output of a laptop? The lowest rating charging block I can get my hands on is rated at 5V 1A, which is more than the battery can take (1 cell 900 mAh li-poshould have a max rating of 900mA). If you charge it on a laptop output (should be around 5V) wouldn't that damage the battery? (Sorry for being ultra cautious, I just saw tooo many Li-po mishaps and don't want them happening to me. )

With any of these USB charger drones, I always use my Samsung charger, it's 2.1 amps output and so pretty high but never an issue, do remember that the charger will always limit the amount charge to the battery itself, so I doubt that the battery sees anywhere near the full throughout.

The WiFi UFO app no longer works at all. I've been using the 720 app and that works fine but I can't access the calibrator option.

+Majki Man go for the Visuo linked in my review, it's the model with all of the sensors whereas other cheaper versions don't have the full feature story. The 809 is a bigger drone, more stable and definitely better for beginners, especially in wind.

The Fact Factory thanks for the comment! Totally different drones, the Hubsan is for FPV racing, i.e. 5.8ghz with goggles etc, whilst this XS809 is a fun toy drone for flying straight out of the box without goggles. The Hubsan is far more a racing quad basically.

The Fact Factory remember that the Hubsan is only 640x480 as it's analogue video, so for better video go for the Visuo!

I think that you've taken my initial opening comments a little too seriously - of course it doesn't fly like a Mavic, that's the point of the video, sarcasm - stating that they've set out to clone the market leading drone, but that it will never fly like a drone worth over 15 times the price.
