That's Ten Hag. He did that with us at Ajax too. Daley Blind was horrible at one time but ik took him months to take him out of the team in favor of the better Tagliafico. It always took months of screaming from fans to sub certain players or to take them of a certain position and then he suddenly saw the light. So frustrating. And every pre season he started to change things up in the base lineup even though it was working perfectly. Martinez suddenly on the bench for no reason. Daley Blind suddenly went from defence to midfield. It took months again to get into a groove. That's Ten Hag and that's what you get when you take him. He is a great coach but sometimes he is so frustrating.
