People pleasing can sometimes be a trauma response (trying to anticipate volatile/unpredictable caregivers or adults needs)... so there's that :/

Drinking since i turned 40 gives me jowls and makes my face bloated and sag. It makes my whole body swell. I go out at night looking 35 and wake up the next morning looking 55, I hate it.

I hear you, I'm almost 40 and I cannot process alcohol anymore. 2 glasses of wine and I'm a gassy, bloated mess.

7:13. It’s was different. She was 19 and they just got married. He was in his 40s after they had a life together and had multiple affairs in her home. / on her property with people who worked for her. Much worse. 19 year olds aren’t expected to be monogamous. The director was trying to make her seem hypocritical there, but I disagree.

I'm sorry, fuck the nurse's feelings about not being "loved" or accepted by his children. That is a very immature reaction imo. She is not entitled to other people reacting the way she wants, especially minors. Grow up.

Additionally, it is their right to not want to meet her, whether it is "fair" or not.

lol I mean I think a person is entitled to feeling sad when someone they meet outright says they don't like them and it has nothing to do with them but the person they are dating. the guy didn't say that she was pressuring him, but it's okay to say she felt sad about his kids not liking her. why do you have to go 'fuck her'? what's with the misogyny?
@baileycaful2 күн бұрын
@@FrauWehner How is it misogynistic to say fuck her feelings? While he didn't say outright that she was pressuring him, he did say her feeling sad and left out resulted in them breaking up. It's unclear who broke up with who or if it was mutual. They are indeed adults and they can date whomever they want, including each other. I'm just saying they don't get a say in how other people feel about it and if they want to set boundaries. He seems pretty adamant about not wanting to cross his kids' boundaries, which is good, so I assume it's the woman who is maybe not "pressuring" him to make his kids more accepting of her, but at least letting it be known that she is hurt by his kids' boundaries. She is entitled to feel that way, but not have her feelings outrank his kids. Also, I don't subscribe to Natasha saying the kids wouldn't be happy even if he was dating someone his age. If they are saying it's the age difference, believe them that it is the age difference. Again, adults can date whomever they want, it's this "I want to have my cake and eat it too" mentality that both adults have that is unreasonable imo. Maybe his kids will come around, but it will probably take a long time and trying to speed up that process of acceptance (which is the crux of his question) is really off-putting and counterproductive.
