Geez I remember my GF in 1985 looking for a cheap used car. We came across a 1964 Polara in Vancouver Canada. 1300 bucks, no rust, good condition, 413 max wedge. I told her she had to buy this car immediately. She ended up buying a 1972 Vega, clouds of smoke POS.

I had a 64 Dart GT years ago. I started as a slant 6 then had a 273 in it and when I got it there was a 230 HP 2BBL 318 under the hood backed up by a 4 speed manual and a Hurst shifter. I loved that car and it really got my MOPAR addiction going.

@N2YTA2 жыл бұрын
The '69 Plymouth Fury is classis American. Nowhere else in the world did they build big giant convertibles (or coupes for that matter) for the general public. That car must have been a joy to own and drive. The lack of things like AC and power windows was not an issue back then (I remember first hand) and the 318 had plenty of guts for normal daily driving. . . . . . I really like that Dart too.

I dig the dart I had a 63 valiant with the same leaning tower of power good engine run forever if you kept oil and water in it…my friends dad had a fury that got T-boned with low miles like 40K on it, we pulled the 383hp w/trans and dropped in to his worn out 318 Cuda car moved after that!

Hello Spaminator Triple Six, yes indeed, I have repeatedly found that in dry, arid climates - especially Southern California (where I lived for 17 years and got started on this whole Junkyard Crawl thing) - the folks just don't know how clean their older cars really are. I got my heart broken thousands of times watching as clean, rust free vehicles of EVERY description went to the Pick-A-Part junkyards, sat for 30 days to be parted out then went to the CRUSHER only to be repopulated again a day later with more cars! THANKS for watching and writing, Steve Magnante
