The Drop x Sennheiser PC38X is a new collaboration between Drop and Sennheiser. It is the follow up to the PC37X gaming headset. While I think the PC38X is one of the best sounding gaming headsets for sale, it still a tough sell compared to regular headphones on the market.

I just upgraded from and old pair of SHP9500's to the PC38X's and absolutely recommend them for music and gaming. Everything is relative, and in this vid you say the PC38X's are not particularly detailed. You obviously are much more knowledgeable and experienced with many different headphone/headsets, but if there is one word I'd use to describe the sound from my PC38X's it would be detailed. When I listen to music, the individual instruments stand out from each other wonderfully and the enjoyment is certainly greater than any headphones I've ever used. My experience is also fantastic in games, with the soundstage and sound detail being just amazing. Yours is one of the only reviews online that is this level of critical of the PC38X so I just wanted to add my "layman's" opinion of this headphone. I'd say my only negative for them is the clamping force you mention...it is quite strong. I stretched mine out overnight on the box they came in and now they are more comfortable.

PC38X is actually a good everyday headphones for all purpose HD599 ear pads can be used

My PC37X lasted me almost 4 years without a scratch, except the torn ear pad. Its more durable then my BOSE and Apple product that I can tell yea. I am upgrading to 38X and giving my 37X away. It still works flawlessly though.

It also depends on the what country it sells like the 6xx is like around 100 dolar more expensive in my country than the pc38x.

this looks like a dollar store headphone with good drivers inside. i bought 6XX for like $170 couple of years ago with drop coupons and stuff. we had it good that year.

actually it's the opposite with the material. it's the most flexible and stable headsets sennheiser build. my 12 year old sennheiser pc360 works perfect (same build)

It is really hard to tell if they are good or not. For the most of the video you just saying that they are solid and recommending other stuff, and then you say they are one of the best headphones. Every other channel recommended these and said they are one of the best if not the best headset. If I am one of those who really need an headset instead of headphones and mic (Unless you can get better headphones + mod mic) for the same price, is there better deals than this?

I agree. That was an odd review. But hey, hard to get in the tech review game. Pb i have with it is maybe the angle should be different. It's a GAMING headset. Felt like he was comparing it to regular more audiophile headphones. But as far as GAMING , this one seems to be one of the best ones. + The mic quality. And the "cheap" built is probably cause they wanted to make it as light as possible. Again... For... GAMING

He never said these are one of the best headphones though, one of the best "headsets". Also check out Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd Gen for an alternative.

There is a big discount store in my city that sells all kinds of things and they have a section full of overbuilt, chunky, luridly designed gaming headphones. I reckon the Sennheiser option is preferable but those other headphones cost about $30 each.

This review doesn't really help anyone for gaming. The 560S is the best of the three headphones for gaming, for example gunshots from a distance sound more clear and easier to hear on the 560S. The 6XX is the worst of the three, I found it to be too narrow to compete especially when playing FPS games it makes it harder to pin point where gunshots and other noises are coming from. The PC38X are a good gaming headset but i would get a 560S and attach a V-MODA mic

out of all of the reviews i have seen for this set of headphones it is easily the worst. like he goes into the details that know one cares about "the cable end is to stiff" shit like that. every other review has praised them for being the best headset of 2020 outright. get better

@@SeanSisco It's definitely his way and it's exactly what I and I bet many others expect from Maxsettings, please respect that. Many other softcore reviewers do what you're saying so there is definitely no shortage of what you're after. Leave Max alone doing it his way or you may push the guy to just quit like Metal because of such ignorant comments like yours. If you don't like his way you can always unsub and stop watching, it's free country.

I have and will continue to follow Max Settings, but as a consumer of his product it is actually beneficial to him that I provide feedback on his content. This review approach, while perhaps valuable for you, was not for me. It is up to him to decide how to consume and take action on that feedback. Your ridiculous notion that this review methodology is the "right" way to review this product ignores the fact that there is no "right" way for all viewers. Saying that anyone who reviews a product differently is somehow soft is equally absurd and ignores reality. Feedback is crucial to success and if Max decides to ignore feedback then that will drive away views, which will drive down revenue, which will then drive down his desire to leverage this platform for financial gain. Again, I like his reviews, his stylistic approach, and sometimes even agree with his determinations, so I won't be leaving anytime soon, but this review approach did not, in any way, align with the title from my perspective.
