Dropdown menus in after effects - simple rigging

This is fantstic, I wasn't sure how to use the dropdown menu for a .mogrt and it cleared it up. Still wrapping my head around multiplying by frame duration and subtracting duration. Does it have to do with the menu creating a number?

this is great, QUestion though: I'm using this to keyframe the background color of a lyric video animation. I'm layering png sequence visuals over it. For some reason, at some point in the comp, it keeps a single frame of my animations showing in comp. Its really weird.
