I have to laugh, my cousin plays the pipes so I heard the song all the time growing up (she'd been playing since she was nine...wow...starting to feel old o_O) Anyway, I was in class one day in college, and this other kid's phone started ringing-it was our Brit Lit course (interestingly enough)- I told him I was impressed he had Scotland the Brave as his ring tone...and he just looked at me and was like "It's 'Cadence to Arms.'" It was so condescending, especially since I was listening to Drop Kick for as long as him :/ (probably longer? I was older than this kid -_-) I love the Drop Kicks, too, or I wouldn't be here. They pay homage, while also creating something that's their own. A sound for the States, that hearkens back to the motherland :3 Both the originals and the recreation hold equal weight for me :D They're good, but for different reasons.

My dude, why so salty? They were just paying homage and trying to introduce new generations to great music. They wrote plenty of their own songs. Would you say the same to The Dubliner's? (And yes, I know they're Irish, not Scottish, but a lot of what they sing are remakes/folk songs, and they are still awesome).
