As a fan of Black 47 and the DKs, this song was a real treat last week. I’d love for the DKs to make this part of their rep. But I hope they make it faster and louder than they performed it on Thursday.

It can't be easy for anyone to do this song, even Black 47 can barely handle it. The song is bigger than Kirwin, bigger than TMTCH and bigger than Pierce Turner. It's up there with the kind of thing Shane would have written and realized that he couldn't perform it without breaking down in tears.

Marchin' down O'Connell Street With the Starry Plough on high Here comes the Citizen's Army With their fists raised in the sky Leading them was a mighty man With a mad rage in his eye "My name is James Connolly I didn't come here to die" "But to fight for the rights of the working man The small farmer too To protect the proletariat From the bosses and their screws So hold on to your rifles, boys Don't give up the dream Of a Republic for the workin' class Economic liberty" Then Jem cries out: "Oh Citizens, this system is a curse An English boss is a monster An Irish one is worse They'll never lock us out again And here's the reason why "My name is James Connolly I didn't come here to die" "But to fight for the rights of the working man The small farmer too To protect the proletariat From the bosses and their screws So hold on to your rifles, boys Don't give up the dream Of a Republic for the workin' class Economic liberty" Now over in the GPO With the bullets whizzin' by Is Pearse and Sean McDermott They're telling each other goodbye Up steps our citizen leader As he roars out to the sky "My name is James Connolly I didn't come here to die" "But to fight for the rights of the working man The small farmer too To protect the proletariat From the bosses and their screws So hold on to your rifles, boys Don't give up the dream Of a Republic for the workin' class Economic liberty" We fought them to a standstill While the flames lit up the sky 'Til a bullet pierced our leader And we gave up on the fight They shot him in Kilmainham jail But they'll never stop his cry "My name is James Connolly I didn't come here to die" "But to fight for the rights of the working man The small farmer too To protect the proletariat From the bosses and their screws So hold on to your rifles, boys Don't give up the dream Of a Republic for the workin' class Economic liberty" "So hold on to your rifles, boys Don't give up the dream Of a Republic for the workin' class Economic liberty"

Brexit will reignite the flames. Sadly. They were pleasantly doused by EU unity. Now, oh, this Northern Irish boy with a Belgian mother, how my heart aches for the growing fascism hidden in Trump and Brexit.

You brainwashed sheep, Trump is the resistance. Against the endless wars in the middle east, national sovereignty from global powers, out sourcing the jobs of the working class, and ending massive immigration. Have you figured out what bathroom to use yet or are you still confused?

@@pierremariejeanahlstrom7714 Very disingenuous argument. The pipeline was already being built by a Russian subsidiary in which the Canadian government was using. There were many players in that negotiation. You have to compromise, and though still from all over the world was used to FINISH the project, it did create many needed jobs. That was Trump's first month as president, but his executive order would have been used for any future original project, but the globalist Democrats refuse to be self-sustainable, just like the greedy EU. You get economic liberty like the song says from being a nationalist, not a globalist looking for the best deal. Trump was by no means perfect, but was a great FU to the system from the working man he generally spoke for
@pierremariejeanahlstrom7714
@pierremariejeanahlstrom7714 3 жыл бұрын
@@porkncoke4833 absolute bullshit. 1. James Connolly was international. 2. The EO did not apply to any future projects, if that's what you intended to write. 3. It went from 23% foreign to just under 50% foreign steel. 4. Trump also litigated to auction California to the highest bidder. Which netted the ratepayers 46,000 dollars and Rockefeller founded Standard Oil the property. 5. Energy independence is a joke. The more we plunder our reserves the sooner Venezuela with its 300 billion untapped reserves becomes the boss.
