My grandfather was threatened to get this kind of treatment for stealing smoked meat. It was the landlord for whom he had worked for food scraps this bugger wouldn't even feed the pigs with... It shouldn't surprise you why he was happy to join the Naz!s... For the first time he got paid, slept in a real bed and had access to showers etc. However, he only jumped out of the frying pan into the fire... PS: that landlord did worse things to the girls working for him (apparently the authorities knew and looked away) . Thus, the invasion of Austria had at least one good side as well...

After WWII, the catholic orphanage was known as the biggest brothel in Vienna (they rented out those girls, even the ugly ones, but the latter for human experiments and the police returned escaped girls and treated them like criminals). Later, it took them ages to figure out that there were serial killers despite them bragging in the open. You can look up the angels of death. They apparently also offend one of my relatives, but up to this day he officially died of natural causes... (if drowning in your bed was ever one) When I was a kid, my family had a huge fight and one part ratted out the other to the cops for smuggling, racketeering, tax evasion, etc. and someone in the PD warned them of their search warrant so that they had ample time to destroy all evidence and bake a cake for their guests... Personally, I can tell you a few funny stories of cops in Germany and Switzerland and long story short, I lost all my trust in them. They are the most useless bunch of lowlieves in state service.
