The part right in the middle of this video where you said you felt like you lost creativity and felt like a watered down version of you’re self, YES! Yes yes yes. That is exactly my feelings right now. I decided not to continue with transferring after getting my associates because of this feeling. I’m so excited and scared for this new part of my journey. Thank you for putting this experience into words! You’re gonna do great.

College is not for everyone, but remember, some of the most successful people never went to college. Continue to pray that God will reveal the direction for your life. By the way, when I say that college isn’t for everyone, I say that as someone with a Ph.D. Go oats!

I am a firm believer in taking your time to figure out what to do. For me personally I'm going to college right after high-school because I feel that's what I need and I'm going for something I love. Many people I know are taking gap year to figure out what they want which I admire so much. I'm happy for you that you were brave enough to drop out and do what makes you feel the best. Someone can be just as successful or more without going to college.

Trace, your video is so relatable. I dropped out of college two years ago for the same reasons as you, I hated the routine, it killed my creativity. And it was the best decision of my life. My dad had the same reaction as yours xD. I don't have it all figured out yet, I don't know how I'll reach my goals yet, but like you, I believe life is all about experiences, trying new things out, making mistakes, learning from them. My creativity has been insane since I dropped out. College definitely isn't for everyone. Wish you the best, and I'm subscribing to help you get to 100k!

That's good for you Trace! I also dropped out of college 10 years ago and it's wasn't my decision it's was my mom telling me if I wanted continue going to college, and I wasn't expecting for her to tell me, I couldn't answer her because I was in shocked and yeah it's just happened like that. But then later I realized that'd it was a great idea for me and my family was not happy, I was hoping for a positive responding but none. Especially my brother he pushing me to go back to college and I think he doesn't understand that college is not for everyone. God has other plans for all of us and he gave me a plan before my dad passed away a plan that I been keeping as a secret for nine years and I just finally told my mom about it (she was shocked and crying). Anyway I'm so happy myself but now I feel like wants to go back again and when I saw your video I couldn't believe that you dropped out again it's the best decision you ever made Trace!!

He wants to open up a business or be his own boss. That much I know. He hates the routine of working for some companies and not getting the freedom he wants. At the end of the year my mental health was a mess and my parents realized that studies didn't matter if I wasn't with the one I really loved by my side. This year I went back to my old school and I couldn't be happier, and thats okayyyy!!! catch you dreams, peacee

It's a lot of fun to watch your videos, Trace. I was very close with your parents in high school. I spent many nights over at your mother's house, chatting and laughing. I practically lived there at certain points. So many good memories at your dad's house too! Sending everyone there a lot of love. Running around in a green field with your dogs seems like an amazing substitute for college. If I could do it all over again, I would definitely postpone college and would skip it altogether if that was where life led. Wishing you all the best and I am subscribed and watching and learning!

Hey man I'm happy things are working out for you. I just started High school, I'm 16 and have a long life ahead of me but I am considering dropping out. I don't want people to try and change my mind, it is not final but I am thinking about it every single day now and I've been at high school for exactly one month and It just isn't for me. The only reason I searched for one in the first place was because I felt like I had to try. I would never be able to forgive myself if I just never even tried High school. Now I am trying it and everyday is a struggle for me. I don't have motivation for more school, I want to stop gaming all day and just drop out of high school so I can search around for a job, I know one job that I have tried before and I really like that place, I know I would be 10x times happier if I just went through with it and started working everyday instead to earn myself some money and hopefully build a future at some point. Remember guys, just because you are unsuccessful in school, doesn't mean you will be unsuccessful in life. If you see a different path in your life and people don't agree with it, you can still take that path even if it might seem stupid. I probably will drop out, just not yet.

I dont want to be that guy but absolutely do not drop out of high school. You 100% need to complete it. Knuckle down for these last two years and get through it I believe in you! After high school find your passion and chase it :)

Shrommy is awesome. Also one idea if you’d be interested- my brother also dropped out of college after the first semester. The next year he went to YWAM DTS in Maui and it’s one of the best experiences he’s ever had. You do three months of training and then three months of outreach in smaller teams (each team goes to a different country). He has also made some incredible friends there and learned a lot about the Lord. I think it’s the perfect balance between not having any structure and having so much structure you dont have time to be yourself. From what he said it’s a ton of fun and there’s lots of shenanigans. There are tons of Dts through YWAM but some of them aren’t very good and can be corrupt, so just make sure it’s a good one. The Maui one was a good one. There are also some based on hobbies, like, there’s a theater dts, a cowboy dts, an art DTS, and they basically just incorporate those things into your relationship with God and spreading his word
@tracesoats Жыл бұрын
YES!! I heard about YWAM that is sick wow thank you Lily! I need to look into it more

College doesn't care about students' mental health. That's why courses are so hard and students, including me, don't understand what they're learning. Because that's the case, I'm planning on dropping out of college
@TayWoode4 ай бұрын
Really? So why is there all these safe spaces for certain groups in case they get upset for mental health? College used to be a place for everyone to respectfully share different ideas and seeing other points of view. Now it seems everyone wants to be separate and want their own way getting offended or triggered by people with a different opinion while blaming it on their mental health when most of the time they don’t want to discuss different opinions without screaming someone else is a bigot. Wait till you get a real job, they don’t care about your mental health as they can replace you with someone else. Life will be tough and you’re going to have to get used to it, sorry to break that to you, I used to be the same until I realised people have their own problems

Hi, I'm 19 and I really want to drop out tbh I will I just don't know when. This is the lowest I've ever been, unfortunately college is not the way I learn, all jobs in India hire people with a degree. I have recently completed my certification in digital marketing and e-commerce by Google so I'm hoping to get a job so I can drop out. If anyone is reading this I'm looking for a job with 300$ a month salary and 6 hours of working hours a day, 5 days a week. If any of you are interested in hiring me as a digital marketer or social media manager or any other role, I am open and available. Thank you Trace for posting this video. I don't know why people take dropping out in a negative way. You really expressed it right why some people want to drop out. A word from you would help. Thank you ❤️

I am in university ( In my country we dont call universities as college. Simply college is school here) and After I completing advanced level and enter university, I didnt got the life I was expected in my childhood, specially the life what others told me I will receive ( like my parents, teachers and former university students). So I am hopeless and with broken expectations. I is mentally and socially really so hard to face thing reality although I am an adult (only for age)

It definitely sounds like you made the right decision for yourself. Most importantly, through this experience, you grew in the Lord. It often takes difficult times in life to help us rely on Him the way we need to. That's where He can shine the most. "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness." James 1:2-3 ESV "Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
