Might sounds weird to us North Americans and Canadian to see people selling odd things on the street but we have Kijiji and Facebook marketplace here to do that 🤷🏼♀️

Electricity is cheap or expensive, depending on the part of the city you live. If you live in an upper class neighborhood, you pay more.

Can you get the 20lbs propane tanks in Ecuador?
@luisdetomaso867Ай бұрын
You forgot to mention that many people pay at stores and restaurants by doing a bank transfer on their cell phone. There is no fee and you can send an exact amount to the penny. Also, a diesel generator is hardly worth the savings because the exhaust smells awful

so since i believe you guys are off grid, your not at all affected by Ecuadors energy crisis?
@tinyhandsbigdreamsАй бұрын
Not really, no. The only way we've been negatively affected is that we don't have phone service in town (we use Whatsapp through wifi at home) and if we forget to plan according to outages we aren't able to use the ATM. That's about it.

@@tinyhandsbigdreams Good to hear. Well done nonetheless.

I watched your video about bringing a 20 foot container and it’s just not possible for me. I looked at bringing two and the issue is that the cost is almost identical is bringing 40 footer and I will be lucky if I can get everything I need or want a 40 foot container. So for two reasons, I don’t think I will be able to bring solar…. I am scared to death. I will screw up. I can just get by wiring a house and the basics. I studied for a couple of weeks about solar, and it is all a new language…. A simpler system to me is the mini hydros that produce 10 K.W. Now you are talking droughts. But I have been looking at the maps and it doesn’t appear like the droughts affect the entire country.. do you think do you think this is an issue now or is this going to become a permanent situation with climate change? Would I be foolish to bring a 10kw mini hydro? realistically, I don’t think I will ever get it right with solar

Power is dirt cheap in Ecuador!
@luisdetomaso867Ай бұрын
There are companies in Ecuador that can provide and install solar
@BigSlimyBlobАй бұрын
@@BuildingenjoymentThe problem isn't price, it's availability. Right now there are very long outages every day due to power rationing, and this will likely start happening more and more often in the summer. Going solar ensures getting power around the clock, and the more people get it, the more power is left for others. That's why removing the tariffs on solar was a great idea, now it's going to be easier for people to import it.
@tenbye466Ай бұрын
@@luisdetomaso867 that is an option, but it was my understanding that solar was more expensive and with less options if I were to purchase it in Ecuador
