The Covenant Dropships (Phantoms, Spirits & Lichs) have always been one of my favorite things in Halo! The first halo vehicle I ever saw was a Phantom in H3 in "The Storm" quickly flying in, deploying some troops while destroying that one rocket pod. The Phantom stuck with me and quickly became my favorite Halo vehicle. The love I have for the Phantom also jumped over to other dropships/transports and to smaller Attack ships like the DAS or CRS class.

Personally I think the Liche is a flying, poor man’s Scarab. But that is due to how it was used in Halo 4. Had it been handled differently, I would have enjoyed its presence.

Never realized the type 44 and 52 Phantom were different till now due to how similar they look. Just goes to show you can always learn something even if you thought you were familiar with lore around it.

The transition was unexpected but brilliantly done and I love the narration of the Elite, you should do an entire series of these where you do several factions and have characters that represent that faction narrate the video, or just do more of these, I would be delighted with either!

What are the Halo 2 phantoms? Are they also considered type 52 because their design is unique using different duel engines, and the side doors don't appear to open due to side mounted turrets which are also the same as the front turret.

They are different variants of the same model. The side guns that are usually manned by grunts in Halo 3, ODST, and Reach were replaced with heavier guns.

I would say it's in a gray area. It can be used multiple times, sperating it from other drop pods. But it isn't flown, it just directly flies a pre set path, unlike the other dropships that are flown by a pilot.
