Aaaaannnnd hes back! Lol nice to see a well covered dzc game again. I too have been getting a couple rules flip-flopped between dzc and dfc, I guess thats the downside to playing sister games haha. looking forward to watching more of your games.

With Quick Thinking you only activate a Squad, so, Yes, the Rifles should not have shot when they did. Not sure it mattered, tho. Great to see you back at filming VBRs, Cameron! Looking forward to more (& DFC ones)!

I'll probably play another game weekend after this one ... TBD if I'll have time to film though. I'll see!

Fun game to watch. Very different lists to what I'm used to. Three fast movers in a game!

SwordOfJustice2007 Two hellhogs is really powerful, especially if you don't horribly misplay them =P. It definitely gives you an answer to things like Ferrums or Annihilators.

Great to see one of your DZC games again! Even if you had played the critical locations rules 3" correctly, looking back through the video (knowing you both would have played it differently anyway,) the speed of the PHR wouldn't have helped, as usual. Rich's CL was in the open, where your's had some cover to it too, so even if he could have sat something on top of it longer... I'm not sure if he could have done it for three turns longer/additional than you could have at your CL point, especially since your tough-to-threaten Zhukovs were over there anyway. What was fun is that you played it consistanly, so it certainly seemed fair and challenging to me. No matter what rule set, still fun to watch, as again I'm vicariously living through others videos of playing this game when my own very small group's games haven't made in almost a year now. Doh!

It is great to see you back. More please ☺ will you do any dropfleet commander reports?
@cameronblume51087 жыл бұрын
Yeah I plan to! I've only made one so far, but I do plan to make more. I'm aiming for a cadence of one video per month, but as you can see I'm already behind. I might be able to record another one the weekend after next. While I consider myself an above average Dropzone player, I'm not actually very good at Dropfleet, so don't count on learning too many amazing tactics when that battle report comes out =P

Welcome back. Do more. I learn a lot from your vids.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear people learn from these... I feel like I'm an above average player, but I'm not the best.

Great report as always. Inspired to start doing some of my own!

I reckon that even one squad of two Free Riders is a "must have" for a Resistance army, especially if you have any bombardment.

SwordOfJustice2007 they definitely used to be, they're just soooo bad after that movement nerf! Now I think they're really just spotters and objective collectors, they're not effective at all in combat. Although maybe that was the goal?

Any plans to film the dfc games that made you confuse the objective rules? :)
@cameronblume51087 жыл бұрын
Yes, probably. It usually comes down to which games I have time to film (the process of filming probably adds an extra 60 minutes to a game). If i'm not in a rush while I'm playing, then I'll go ahead and film. DfC is in play!

Athena. A little over pointed?
@cameronblume51087 жыл бұрын
Short answer - yes Long answer - yes, but I also think that people start with the wrong expectations. An Athena is not a pure AA unit, so if you come in expecting a pure AA unit you will get really poor value for points. An Athena is half an AA unit, and half a demo unit... and it has some extra capabilities to make dangerous attack runs by sacrificing some attack power. Every game you will likely get 4-5 attack runs. 2 of these should be strategic use of the demo missiles against buildings, and the other 2-3 should be AA runs or intercepts (mitigating risk accordingly based on how the enemy is positioned). Also, some people use the demo missiles against tanks ... they're not great for that. That said, even when used correctly the Athena still feels a little over pointed =)
