I get goose bumps every time I listen to this song. I especially love the second part of "chorus" when the high notes start to kick in and I'm like OMG I DON'T KNOW IF I'LL HANDLE ALL THAT AWESOMENESS

The video is about loss, about trying to desperately hold on to something precious that is, essentially, trying to get away from you. Once it has attained it's freedom, it blossoms forth into something more beautiful than it was before, to your horror and dismay. It becomes exalted, without you. Then again, maybe it's just a bunch of moving pictures. Hehe... cartoons! :) *claps *

I prefer the OP's interpretation. Makes me think of an old relationship when I didn't know what I was doing and expected far more than I should have. Hell, she's a pretty successful person now.

When the tree rises, it reminds me of this lyric from 10.000 Days by Tool "Repugnant is the creature who will squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, concious of its fleeting time here" -Tool .

WOW, it's been so long since I last listened to this. Every bit amazing as the first time round. Anyone catch them at Reading? Always loved this vid. Even though it was fan made, it really feels like something they'd do. Such deep intensity and emotion, and so much so that it suits the song down to the ground.

Time ticks down in a world we would never have chosen. Remembering the rooms of people who didn't intend to stay. Maybe not even with themselves. Why not just leave if everything just dies that holds you here... I. Am. Gone. Already. Cause. You. Are. Gone. Already.

for the dude that wants it explained. seems like the seed is a metaphor for someone "unique" or "different" or even "normal" (in terms of how we're born) and the metallic structures are what society "structures us to be. the seed is flying trying to find a place to grow and expand into what its meant to be. a unique and healthy part of society, possibly making a difference. the robot represents the structures as it chases the seed and tries to make it one of its own. the seed escapes and grows into a tree. this happens in real life, when you see a single person that tries to revolutionize the world or change it for the better. take mandela. hard life (structures) tried to stop him from growing, but he made a difference. it happens. keep hope, friends.

My wife and I discovered 65daysofstatic 10 years ago when they opened for The Cure. Absolutely brilliant band. We were mesmerized by their live performance. Sometimes lyrics tell the story of a song. This band needs no lyrics. So much power, passion and emotion is conveyed in their songs.

it was a great move of robert smith / the cure to support them and make them known to the world. I can't believe it's been 10 years since 65dos supported them on a tour. I've been listening to them for 12 years and they are still one of the best bands I've ever witnessed!

Well, the artist himself wrote that the meaning is entirely up to the viewer. I thought it was about how we keep trying to adjust and outrun nature by bettering ourselves and creating new technology, but the end nature is the only true creator and it will always win.
