I love how intelligently written the chorus is; The final line at the start is "The ocean seeks to take you down with me" and at the end it changes to "The ocean seeks to take you drown with me". At first it might not seem like it makes much sense. Until you slightly adjust how you read it. Instead of listening to it as the original flow, break it into 2 different sentences where Pyke ends by commanding you to share his fate: "The ocean seeks to take you. Drown with me." It maintains the same beat and sound to the song, but a subtle change at the end that twists the final part of that line to mean something new. And beautifully captures his psychotic drive, it is not just that he sees this as the will of the sea to claim you, but he himself wants you in the abyss alongside him. Huge love to you as a Pyke main!

The sound design in this is amazing. I really like the feeling and sensation of being pulled under the water for each chorus. The music in the back dulls as if underwater, just to come back at full volume when he appears. This flows in a very odd, but amazing way. Tapped my foot, bobbed my head, tapped my fist against the desk in rhythm... Got chills with the entire chorus, only to truly shake at "Down with me". I loved this. This is so uniquely Pyke... that I can't help but love it. Also, my buddy is a Pyke main and I feel like this mix would be something he'd love so excuse me while I go see what his thoughts are! Amazing work as always, Falconshield and I LOVE hearing you guys play with genres. Its actually stunning the magic you create.

My favorite little touch is how the song has no real instrumental until the first chorus, when he falls into the sea. Before that point, all it has is a bit of percussion and the acapella humming. This represents, to me, how alone Pyke truly was. Right up until he found his new family at the bottom of the sea.

Wow this is amazing. The flow is so cool like this swelling feeling of waves or something, awesome to listen to. The part with "Greed, theft, telling lies" has such an incredible swing of beat and loud strength it gives me chills. I was a teenage solo singer in a our schools choir and with that experience you can really see the singers physical emphasizing with the emotions etc of the song its just so wonderful. It feels like a happy medieval song to some old folk lore that is told at the villages festivals where the legend of Pyke is told. An absolutely amazing detail i love is that at the start and middle of the song we have clear sounds when the video is above the water and this dampened sound when below. This effect even increased the further we are in the song. But as the video and the story of pyke continues, at 3:44 we have the most dampened sound under water, the next moment we are above the water but still have this effect. This shows that in the story of pyke he is drowning deep in the water, but survives ("Alive or dead or in-between") and in that moment below and above the water are foreign places for him. Then the camera takes us down again and you can actually hear somebody gasping for air at 3:53, now the sound is absolutely clear the same way it was earlier in the song above the water, just now it is below. This shows that the sea and everything below the water is now Pykes domain, his kingdom, his yard. I cant emphasize enough how much i love this attention to detail and how close the song is to Pykes actual Lore. Damn, this.IS. AWESOME! Thank you for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those that may not have known, this song is actually the life that Pyke had and the lore behind his character. If you want to read the full version you can go to the LoL page for the champ. I will say the very short version though, and that's what makes this song kind of sad in a way, when you realize what Pyke has actually been through. In Bilgewater, there is very much a class system based on your worth. Unfortunately for Pyke, he was poor, and therefore, worthless. To make their income, the worthless end up selling themselves to ship captains as crew for scraps each day. The only one that would accept Pyke was a captain at the Slaughter Docks, a place aptly named both because of people being torn apart there, and because of the fishery. The prize fish they all look for is a creature called the Jaull-Fish, which is a creature that possesses a kind of sac inside the mouth that produces a material that has extremely valuable effects for magic elixirs. The problem: The sac needs to be harvested from a fish that looks like a demented Angler fish crossed with a worm from Dune, while the fish is still alive, otherwise the sac will quickly lose potency for the elixir. The way it's supposed to work is the fisher goes in the mouth, tied by a rope from the ship, harvests the sac, and then gets yanked out of the water quickly before the fish eats them. Pyke's former captain saw the size of this Jaull-fish and got terrified because the fish was large enough to destroy their ship and take everyone down. Instead of that, the captain cut Pyke off the rope and left him to fend for himself so the rest of the ship could escape. Subsequently, Pyke was eaten by the fish, and somehow, perhaps by being exposed to the pure material of that sac, perhaps fueled entirely by vengeance, he "survived".
