The most difficult thing for me coming from the guitar is that on the guitar its one finger per fret/position, but on the mandolin, its one 1 finger per 2 frets/positions. Is it best to stick to the 1 finger per 2 frets rule whilst learning Mandolin?

Im learning tenor banjo at the same time so I just use one finger per fret to avoid a lot of confusion. Id just do what works for you.

Great lesson! If you were to use chop chords along with this, what chord shape would you use for Em?

For the best success, I recommend students print out the tabs from the website and have them in front of them while following along with the lesson.
