My pores on my nose were the smallest they could possibly get when I was on accutane, but they were still way more noticeable than the average person's pores:'( Tretinoin does nothing for my pore size. Unfortunately some of us are genetically cursed in this department

I started using sprinolactone for the last 4 weeks and my skin has never looked better and I'm not oily for the first time in my life. This drug was a little hard to get used to, but it really is amazing the difference it has made. I'm so glad my dermatologist recommended we try it. I didn't know my skin could look like this

In regards to controlling sebum production, topical spironolactone researh has shown promise in treating acne for women as well as men but it is not available commercially. Winlevi, a recently approved topical antiandrogen known as clascoterone 1% has been shown to inhibit oil production to some extent, though I do not know how good it is

I have very dry skin and visible pores on my nose and part of my cheeks. The only thing thing that is effective is bha for my nose and tretinoin for the rest of my face. At 47, nothing is getting better and it seems there is something new every week that I am battling. I use sunscreen daily and have since I was 30. I wish I began earlier, but we didn't really know as much as we do now.

Always wear sunscreen BHA once a month AM PM routine Refissa Niacinamide Azelaic Acid Matixyl+Synthe 6 Hyaluronic acid + B5 2O vitamin C (this is not what fixed my skin, added later) Q10 Hyaluronic Acid + B5 Eucerin Q10 cream Sunscreen

Dr.Sam, do you recommend to wash your face in the am also, or only in the pm is fine? I heard most dermatologists recommend only once a day (pm), especially for sensitive skin, is that correct? What do you personaly do?
I've used everything,Bha's,azelaic acid,tretinoin and nothing has helped the large pores on my cheeks ...and they just keep getting worse as i age...I'm 39....I use tretonoin and azelaic acid every day anyway for anti aging and rosacea,but I have never noticed any improvement in my pores...it's genetic and like sam says the collagen depletes as we get older making them larger and more stretched looking... there's very little we can do to change that as I've found out ...

@arrowofpatience3 жыл бұрын
Most people use niacinamide with tretinoin because it helps keep barrier function and decrease irritation that comes with using tretinoin. Get yourself used to a nice niacinimide product, then slowly introduce the tretinoin into your routine
