How we differentiate pseudocyst from true cyst on usg?

True cysts generally have thin, well-defined walls, while pseudocysts may have thicker, irregular walls. The presence of associated features can be a clue. For example, pseudocysts may be associated with pancreatitis or abdominal trauma, whereas true cysts might be seen in conditions like polycystic kidney disease.

Why do we call this cyst pseudocyst?

A pseudocyst is not lined by epithelium like a true cyst is. It is not a sac-like structure. It is just a collection of leaked pancreatic fluids. Also, a pseudocyst is not completely closed like a true cyst is.
