Thanks for the early answer! Supposedly, the name Druaga originates from a Babylonian deity. It's very ambiguous, though; a Wikipedia article doesn't even exist for it.

Recording CRTs: Some cameras (both of my canon point-and-shoot ones have this) allow you to change the "exposure" (in my case via a slider) and you can dial-in the "framerate" of the camera, finding the sweet spot where you remove the flickers. A lot of my ancient gameplay vids are done this way (still get a bit of a rainbow effect from that TV, though).

Regarding the SSD in the Power Mac 6500 (or 7500!).... I plan to try it on my machine, but have a SATA PCI card that I plan to use instead of using the internal SCSI or ATA bus. That would let you use an SSD you already have. I have a MOTU PCI card in mine already for audio interface, an old Opcode MIDI interface, and an old copy of MOTU Digital Performer 2.7.
