This is how to sum up the council, with a couple of local news stories I read years ago, which stick in my mind. A White man builds a small dormer roof extension, for his disabled son. Gets told to reverse the extension with compromises. A White woman installs a small chalet type building in her back garden, so that her elderly mother can stay with her but keep her independence, rather than putting her in a residential home. Gets told to remove the chalet, as it doesn't match neighbouring properties. Yet when an Asian decides to build something without permission, and even damage their neighbours listed properties in the process like MP Naz Shah did, they always get retrospective planning permission... ...or at least they did, as I've noticed a few stories in the last year where Asian takeaways/restaurants have been refused retrospective planning permission for their illegally installed extensions, which would usually be accepted. I wonder if there's more White people on the planning panel now.

Awesome friendly gentleman and great job cleaning the properties up. ⭐⭐⭐👍 The old building on the opposite side/other entrance was Bowling House dating to mid 1800s and was in a bad state on the past decade. A more modern extension was added along the street in a worst state as PJ noted. The 2008 street view from the other entrance shows Bowling House and the buildings being demolished. The industrial estate is part of the former Bowling Iron Works. Daniel Gardecki noted that Bradford Waste Traders appeared in the 2013 film "The Selfish Giant" for a few brief scrap selling scenes. Film centres on a Bradford lad and friend selling scrap and stealing cable resulting in one being electricuted.

I know nothing about this building, however I do know that Historic England are the ones who list buildings, and anyone can apply to have a building listed. I also know that Bradford Council like closing and demolishing buildings for no reason, so that they can build fewer new ones, like they did with most of the libraries and swimming pools across the 141 square mile city, 10-15 years ago, and then not delivering on their promises. One example is the iconic Richard Dunn Sports Centre, a brutalist landmark, which had the fastest and longest waterslides in the UK when they were installed in the early 90s. It was built in 1974, opened in 1978, closed in 2019, and they planned to demolish it in 2020. However the Bradford Civic Society got it listed, so now the useless council have no idea what to do with it. It's costing them thousands in security which clearly didn't work, as gypsies got onto the site in late 2023, and the building is now falling to pieces because they can't afford to maintain it. I was one of the few who wanted to keep it as it's unique and fun, as even though it's one of the pools which got a replacement just a few hundred metres away, the new pool is plain and boring, just as they planned 10-15 years ago. Kids don't want to swim in pools. Kids want to slide and jump in pools. Now that's been taken away from them.
