I love that you did an updated foundation routine. I struggle with acne & scarring every single day and so I love trying out new complexion products to see what works and what doesn’t work for me. Great video Robin! Hope you’re doing well 😘

LOVE the trick of letting the concealer sit for a few minutes before going in to blend! Sometimes I put on my concealer & go straight into blending, only to wonder...”Where the hell did all of that concealer go”?! ESPECIALLY over the melasma that is on my cheekbones & upper lip from growing up on the water. Mom always put sunscreen on us, but it wasn’t like it is now where we reapply a minimum of every 90min or so! And I’m just not structured enough to remember to apply Vit C or a retinol consistently 🤦🏼♀️..so concealer & I are best friends, lol! Hope you are feeling well!! 🤗💜😘

I do the same thing with my concealer, even under my eyes. I use a dry Real Techniques sponge to blend it out. The coverage so much better that way!

Omg yes spot concealing with that tiny brush takes forever when I have spots everywhere 😂. I find that using a concealer shade that's slightly darker than my skin covers up pimples & discolouration better than a highlighting shade of concealer. A lighter concealer just exaggerates everything. I also put on concealer, leave it on for a while then blend around the edges as opposed to on it (like we do for foundation) as it takes away the coverage. Blending around is best suited for active pimples.

That true match lumi foundation looks really nice on you. I have super oily skin so I’m too scared to try that one lol
@RobinsCupofTea6 жыл бұрын
Might not be great if you're super oily...do you have a favorite foundation you recommend?
@kimbasciano_6 жыл бұрын
Robin's Cup of Tea I have a lot of Favorites! Estée Lauder double wear is a great one. For drugstore I like the covergirl outlast, revlon colorstay. I just picked up a new foundation from cvs today from a new brand named Joah or something like that. Lol

Did you keep the lighting constant throughout the entire video, or did you bring the lighting back "up" for intro & outro? Totally agree with Lynne S on feeling like I'm watching magic!

Robin you should try homeopathic calendula ointment if you get dents or scars from acne. It's antiseptic as well as healing, it has helped me a lot.

I'll look into that, thank you!

I love Loreal True match foundation so much! I use the original not the Lumi bc I have combo/oily skin and the original is so natural and skin like. I use N2 with a Daisy Fuentes "stippling" brush I found at Ross (it's not a stippling duo fiber brush so idk why it's called that but its great for liquidy foundations.) I'm so glad I found your channel, I'm not big on primer either, the only "primer" I own is the Nivea men sensitive post shave balm. Tut is the cutest and makes me miss my black cat, my baby girl Nyx (she stayed with my bf)

The makeup revolution is my fav concealer now. I did like shapetape because it would stay put but it was so drying. I feel like the MR concealer still has that same full coverage. I find the colourpop is a good face concealer but not under the eyes so I agree. Do you find when you do the upper lip using that concealer method that it gets cakey? I can’t seem to get it to look good.
@RobinsCupofTea6 жыл бұрын
The MR concealer doesn't get cakey on my upper lip, but I make sure there's not too much hair there, lol

Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm currently stuck on the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer but happy to find out about your current faves. How do these compare with the Fit Me concealer?

Hey, Robin! Have you considered rosehip oil for your hyperpigmentation and scarring? It's reported to help.
@RobinsCupofTea6 жыл бұрын
I love rosehip seed oil!!! I'm not using it at the moment, because I'm trying to follow a regimen from my dermatologist, but I hope you add it back in soon. Great recommendation!
@jcjccmz6 жыл бұрын
Has your dermatologist prescribed Finacea for you? Its main active is azelaic acid, which helps lighten hyperpigmentation while it also helps with acne and skin texture. I think it's safe for pregnancy. You might just ask about it to see what your doctor says. Generally it's a 2x a day application. I found it worked really well for me when I used it in once a day and a different, Benz Perox-based treatment once a day (since I wasn't pregnant), one in the AM and the other in the PM. Whatever way you can best get it to work for you.
@RobinsCupofTea6 жыл бұрын
Yes! I was using finacea for a few months and the rx I had for it was 15% azelaic acid. Then I switched to melazepam, which is otc and has 20% azelaic acid. My dermatologist was fine with that, it's way cheaper, and I've found it to be even more effective!
@jcjccmz6 жыл бұрын
@@RobinsCupofTea What? There is an OTC azelaic acid product in the U.S.? I need to go find that melazepam! Thank you for this tip!
