I’m pretty sure story wise Druig is just super casual and eating whenever he’s with the other Eternals since he knows way too well they’re strong enough to protect each other. Not to mention he’s an eternal himself and would definitely have a lot of fighting experience, so even if caught off guard he’ll be backed up by the others. An example is the first Post Credits scene. since he was with Thena and Makkari on the shit (who we’ve seen are pretty good fighters) there wasn’t really a need to have his guard up (at least in his opinion) hence why he didn’t sense anything coming while they did. I might be wrong, but it’s a thought.
