Our FIRST TIME taking DRUKAIR and our FIRST TIME to BHUTAN! We flew into one of the world's most dangerous airport - Paro International Airport - from Bangkok.
Did you know? According to Forbes, a few factors make the approach particularly dangerous, including the steep 45-degree turn into the runway - which the pilots can't even see until moments before dropping onto the airfield! No wonder our Captain was making these crazy turns in the air which I've never experienced on another commercial flight elsewhere! :O
Apparently, only 24 pilots are certified and allowed to land at Paro International Airport. mind-blown

It is amazing. Thank you for sharing. I flew with Druk Air, but it departed BKK around 10 pm I think hahaha can't be precise coz its been a long long time. Made a quick scheduled stop in Dhaka, Bangladesh, of course we stayed on the plane, then on to Paro. Only when we departed Paro that we ran into weather delay. Same reason..... the sky was not clear enough. We had to wait for the sun to come out. Was yours supposed to be a direct flight?

Hellooo!~ @kawanchiraguna4381 Thanks for watching the vlog and leaving us a comment! 😄Flying into Paro was meant to be a (super early morning) direct flight from BKK, without stopovers or layovers. However, we had to do a re-fueling stop at one of India's airport because of poor weather and our plane was running low on fuel after the captain circled for hours, attempting to land the plane at Paro. Our flight departing Paro, into BKK is also a direct flight. We took the time in BKK to meet up with family & explore Khao Yai, before flying from BKK back home to SG a few days later.

Hi Jelly and Mr. P, Hurray! Start of journey to Bhutan. Wow there are a lot of passengers on the plane. Looks like you had a better flight than your previous one on Gulf Air despite the diversion. I think the view of the mountains is stunning. Did you get any altitude sickness when you arrive at Paro International Airport? I read Paro International Airport is 2,235 m above sea level. 11:59 No Food No Life Just Eat it.

Hi Toby! Yesss, I'm sorry we took so long to start editing the videos 🤭. It was a FULL flight into Paro - pretty insane. As you rightfully pointed out, Drukair's meals were definitely way better than Gulf's full-fledged flight meal 😂. The portions were huge too - I struggled to finish everything. No altitude sickness (probably seasoned in some way thanks to recent mountain hikes hahah) at Paro. But you may start to breathe heavier (compared to at sea level) when exerting yourself e.g. climbing stairs, running, carrying weights etc. 😮‍💨 I felt that air was thinner at Tiger's Nest & Douchula Pass...but understandably so becos those are at higher altitudes. 😀

@tobyteng7522 hello, thanks for always supporting our vlogs. thankfully, there were no screaming kids added onto the diversion 🙂which definitely made the lengthened flight more bearable. The views were truly stunning, and one of the more scenic flights recently. Seeing the Himalayan mountains just reminds us that there is more to life. For all trips to Bhutan, day one is usually reserved for acclimatisation, so it will just be mostly wandering around Thimphu sights. Funnily our guide told us he loves sg chicken rice, so i guess its really No Food No Life, Just Eat It 😂

@tzew yess, thats what i thought too. Flew with them back last year in July, got NEO luckily both the times, and omg the mask 💞. In love with Druk since, and in the dac-bkk leg, His Majesty was on board with us. So even tho aircraft was connected at jet bridge in Dhaka where i departed from, we boarded via stairs from the rear. And been in love with Druk since, so underrated. Cheers!

Not sure if you feel the same way, but even though Druk Air doesn't have the best food/ entertainment, there is just something calm about the whole flight, makes it a really smooth and enjoyable ride. ✈

@tzew yeah getting neo both times were lucky because on the return flight, equipment was shown 319 but last minute equipment change. And the load was quite light too, which would have been perfect for 319 but yeah thats how lucky we were. Personally, I feel Druk is ahead of all the other South Asian carriers by many parameters. Lets not talk about PIA, we all know how it is, Air India after rebranding its returning to its old glory, Vistara may be considered better in some factors but Druk stands out on many points too. Biman, well there are huge issues too as well as Sri Lankan, US Bangla etc. On some parameters, it wouldnt even be a comparison like such as fleet, as they all have HUGE fleet. So, in that sense it would be a good comparison w Maldivian and i have flown both, trust me Druk is way ahead. Maldivian is currently operating only one 320, no IFE, not even an in flight magazine let alone wifi on ur phone, the food was great but there were no options of soft drinks. Still have special attachment w their 320 and neo for some reason, and about hospitality Druk was wayyyy better too. Maldivian crew DAC-MLE leg was really good, but on the return flight, so unmotivated not even a "welcome aboard" or "bye"

PS: I only shared footage of the 3 loops, and stopped recording after that (till the landing flight) because I was so sleepy and kept dozing off while we were circling in the sky haha.
