What a show indeed! Still gives me chills. I have to expand on this, it’s brought back so many memories of those days of DC tours and the blood sweat and tears that go into it. I remember watching this show in Ogdensburg, NY in 89. We had already seen 88s edition from DCI championships of that year so we knew a lot of the arrangements just because of how closely we watched this performance. By the end of this performance, my friend and I were literally in tears as it was so profoundly breathtaking to watch. There’s just something about ALWs compositions that make them so memorable. The melodies are engraved into my memory for life!

I was fortunate to be wowed by this at the beginning of the season. I've listened to the recording countless times; the music is a marvel. Ralph's percussion writing for this show expressed power to beauty, suspense to romance. The interplay between the different sections is exquisite. What the kids play these days is incredible, but I think this was the epitome of artistic, sophisticated marching percussion writing.

@voiceofreason9238 yeah it's really cool. It isn't souly based on phantom of the opera, it's mainly about bringing back many amazing but forgotten operas. We use the phantom of the opera songs to bring back the theme of opera and the phantoms of the opera (old operas)are being brought back to life. For example, we use Nessun Dorma and the Barber of Seville.
