Hey great cover I am starting to learn the drums at the age of 34, quick question how do u record ur covers? I use ezdrummer with my Roland td4, so I would like to record both video and the sounds coming from my laptop from ezdrummer, I have tried using my phone with an irig2 to pick up the sounds from my laptop into my phone but the sound is terrible

Hiya, Thanks for your message - always good to hear that another person has realised how awesome drumming is and has picked up sticks!! This might be of no interest to you, but I thought I'd mention it while replying - at the start of my channel, I've done some tutorials on how to play the drum parts for entire songs, so please feel free to have a look as they might be of use to you, depending on how much you've learnt so far. If not please ignore this part of the message!! Re my sound, I run a standard stereo guitar lead out from the drum headphone port and plug it in to an amp, which sits behind, just out of shot in the video. You could always plug this lead in to the microphone port, if you have one, on a hi-fi, but don't use a mono lead as they don't sound as good. After I've recorded the video for my drum part, I then mix the audio of the song in on top of the video. Beware of this technique though, because if you do this, your video microphone will pick up the noise of your sticks hitting the pads and people have commented before on some of my videos saying they don't think this is as good an overall sound as it could be. (If you read through some of the other comments on my other videos, some people have given their advice on other recording methods, so maybe check those out if you can find them.) Good luck!!

\_ _/- Well done, Have a Drink on Me...... But seriously, you're right, it does drive the song hard. And more fun to play I'm sure. Subscribed. The MPS 850 is on my short list of drum kits I'm looking to purchase soon. For someone like me, just a hobby player, they seem the best deal running. How long did you have them and why did you get a new set? And just how bad is the triple zone cymbal everyone complains about? Would you buy them again just for a bedroom set? What is the biggest issue for you with them?

Hiya, Thanks for your comment. I had the MPS850 for just over a year and traded it in because I was getting rid of a load of other drum equipment at the time and because I wanted a better electric kit. I'd previously had a Yamaha, (which was good), but the MPS was better, (mainly because it was much newer so the technology had improved. However, the MPS hi-hat was one of the main reasons why I changed it because it wasn't close enough to replicate what I'd normally do on an acoustic kit. I couldn't ever really get the bell on the ride to work every time either. Neither these things were bad, they just weren't reliable every time and when playing covers, I wanted to get the right hi-hat sound for the song. As a kit for practicing on and playing generally, I'd still recommend the MPS850 because I think it's amazing value for money for what you get, but I wouldn't ever gig with it because it's wasn't good enough for that. I hope this helps!

Hahaha, yes I do! Smoke on the Water, I'm Down, Sharp Dressed Man and God Save the Queen? I think I only played 9 or 10 songs with you guys, so you'll have to remind me of the rest of the set list as it was longer ago than I want to admit to myself of being alive for, hahaha. That gig is still definitely in the Top 10 of gigs I've ever played!!

I've just listened to three Lamb of God songs, (including 'Pathetic'), and was blown away by the super fast double bass drumming - awesome! Perhaps I need to choose some heavier songs because I've now had Slayer, Pantera, Linkin Park and Lamb of God suggestions come in.......
