A lot more simple than the other one I saw. The other one literally was more difficult than building a pedal from scratch

Genius idea! Another method could be to bolt some sort of splint against the chain instead to stop it flopping around, essentially making it a direct drive

While I appreciate the idea to try to solve this (it’s in fact really smart, imho), a thing I must say: these parts that you are reusing are not made for that kind of work, doesn’t have bearing and probably will wears off quickly, really quickly. At least lubricate them to make them last longer. Keep up innovating!

Amazing video. In the thumbnail, you show the offset double pedal. Do you use that pedal? I clicked on this as they sell a conversion kit for that but it's terrible.

Hi, i use a single pedal, but you can use a double pedal. I think its the same thing.

The real question is, is it really smoother and faster then original chain with this home made direct drive modification?
@innie7213 жыл бұрын
its a cool idea but a direct drive doesn't collapse in the middle like that, since it collapses it'll feel more like a chain pedal
@ncimson5318 Жыл бұрын
Whys collapsing in the middle? If you look at the store bought one its the same as far as where it bends and his invention is even adjustable

@@ncimson5318 at 8:10 when the footboard moves up, there is slack created due to the linkage. I own czarcie kopyto and axis pedals, neither of them work that way

Me gusta mucho tu invento, pero eso estaria bien para un pedal medio decente, pues ese pedal es bastante malo y no merece la pena reformarlo, pero me quedo con la idea,(muy buena).

Neat idea, but considering some pedals cough axis cough are known to snap the drive link, I dont know how practical this is considering they are solid machined parts. I could definitely see those threads tearing out after a few weeks. Just not worth the time or money imo
@dreddmann92922 жыл бұрын
This was cool but you didn't show it in action. The video was cool and all at first but very disappointing in the end. I don't like to assume that it works, i wanted to see it and hear it with my own ears and eyes. I thought you where going to showcase it in action at the very end. Even though i dont like to assume but you not showing it action tells me that it must of broke easily and immediately upon playing.

@Arma_drums_133 жыл бұрын
This isn't a good way to make a "direct drive" and the reason why is be cause it's supposed to be as direct as possible so when you push on the pedal, it should be a direct response, but for this, it might not even be the same, and it doesn't help that he didn't show the pedal in action. Second I think this is just a "cheap" way to improve your pedal, but in reality it's not, you'll have to buy the clamps and the nut, cut the screws to an unknown size because that wasn't specified, and get lucky that both screws will be exactly aligned with each other to put it on the pedal. Honestly, don't waste your time and effort, but buy a conversion kit for the pedal, or even just buy a new one. Gibraltar has a direct drive pedal for like $70. In the end don't waste your time, be smart and don't do this.
@nano-pz1vk3 жыл бұрын
Hello, if you can buy a new direct drive it is very good. I just did it, because mine broke the chain. There is no point in making a video work because it is best to test it to feel the effect. This is a good method, for those with little money like me. Of course, it takes some technique to build.
