I can remember the time when aspiring drummers would say I wanna be as good as Steve Gadd, Billy Cobham, or Phil Collins. Senri is the new benchmark!

Senri, Thanks for posting a behind the scenes video showing the recording equipment and the process of getting the best sound. It's a cool insight. Thanks for the English subtitles, too, for those of us who don't know but a little Japanese. As usual, your drumming is vibrant, crisp, and flawless. Keep rockin', young lady.

NO NO ! I love Senri! I think she’s an absolute phenom. I respond to her fans speaking about her like she’s is the unmatched greatest drummer in the world. I obviously disagree with that but Senri is a sweet young lady that is an UNBELIEVABLE drummer!💯💯💯

one of the most talented drummers of our time.. Senri, you are absolutely amazing.. and I know you are only going to get better.. keep it up... hopefully you will come back to the USA on tour and I will be able to see you live.

Every time I see you play, I have a big smile on my face.
So cool, beyond your skills to hear the capture change (and just how much control the engineer has over the sound) is amazing.

It's good to see Senri Kawaguchi in fine form as usual. All that elaborate electronic tailoring shows why recordings sound so different from live performances.

@@riptide534 Of course shes good! She’s amazing but have you seen what’s out there??? She has so many holes in her game tho! Check out Larnel Lewis at the Tam Tam drum festival. The very last song called, “Change your mind.” Senri doesn’t have that kind of sophistication in her playing. She has horrible grooves and she doesn’t play with space well AT ALL. She’s in too much of a hurry to throw in fills. SHE IS NOT ON ANOTHER LEVEL. Also check this out...kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnWaoqeBgMpqlZo

One of the best I would agree not the Imo the current best are 1. Mike the master Mangini from Dream Theater 2. Neil Peart from Rush 3. Thomas Lang Go check them out and see what ya think
@LMS_HQ4 жыл бұрын
@@j.d.7208 To be honest : I was only impressed by Thomas Lang. Neil and Mike have an arsenal of snares, toms and cymbals available but that not necessarily means their better drummers...
@j.d.72084 жыл бұрын
@@LMS_HQ I agree but I was talking about their skill nothing to do with how many drums you have to hit ex Mangini has played , studied, performed since he was like 6 practiced every waking moment until graduation of high school went to arguably the most prestigious music theory school on earth Berkley finished, studied every thing under to sun about percussion, complex odd time signatures, syncopation, metronomic mastery , rudiments ect ect ect , all different genre's and styles of music , composing and structure in songs , composing solos , music theory, control, stamina, and deffinatly the first and only drummer in history that truly and honestly plays 100% ambidextrous with Right and left feet and hands , got his doctorates degree in percussion, won several worlds fastest drummer yearly competitions, won modern drumming magazine drummer of the year several times which is the ultimate considering the votes are from drummers only , made ground breaking (DVDs, books , drum tabs) education courses, clinician performances all which won high awards , thousands of hours of practice, playing, studying, and plays arguably the most complex music with the most technically band ever dream theater, that only a very small percentage of masterclass class drummers could honestly be able to play, honestly the only drummer pretty close to his skills is Thomas Lang which was in the dream theater auditions after Portnoy was fired, and many outher masterclass drummers that Mangini descivly won the permanent gig with the dream team, so yea having a lot of equipment doesn't make you any better it just gives you more options for different varieties of sound sources

Senri. Absolutely mind boggling. Played Drums all my life. I send you good wishes with your career. My favorite band growing up was Rush. Wondering if you'd heard of Niel Peart. Great Canadian Rock trio. You should get in touch with him. Can't forget Getty and Alix. Good luck from Rhode Island in the United States.

Flawless and amazing to my mere human parameters of hearing and perception. It's also the reason why drummers, lead guitarists etc always stay in Japan and are seldom seen in the west. The technical ability would never be questioned.. This is as clean as the Culloden Diamond.. It's perfection, flawless, pure and as clean as a surgical scalpel.. It's also the opposite of what most music lovers want. Style, character and influence rate far higher than excellence or actual ability.. Mike Gadd was celebrated yet hardly played wither clean or sober in his career. Hard to explain this to a nation famous for minute attention to detail and the 00.1% allowable accuracy flaw, but it's at the heart of all music..
