Thanks Mike. Another good trick for the toolbox. 90% of what I play in a band is pure pocket. I've improved the variety of my short fills from watching your videos. Keep up the good work!

10 years later and Mike is still handing out a peppamint to the kids. I remember practicing the first video so much and driving my band mates crazy. This makes me want to dust off the old kit and get back into it again.

Thanks Mike, awesome lesson and sentiment (yep, joy!) I can also see this in a breakdown of a live gig, where the band and crowd want to see some “pizazz” and entertainment 👏🏻👏🏻🤩 without it being the predictable “drum solo” bit that 99% of the audience don’t really care about 😁
@dr.layman1623 Жыл бұрын
I think this would fit perfectly as a transition from an up-tempo groove. Instead of playing the same thing on 2&4 of the rhythm, end with a roundhouse fill while the band changes key or whatever they are do (while we work the real magik)...
@BlurredTrees2 жыл бұрын
I think you can take sections of that and really make awesome songs with it. Sick groove. Even the whole thing on repeat with some spicy guitar. 👌🏻

Been watching you for a long time this linear drum playing something It’s something I’m trying to tackle. Q : I buy sticks and when i go to use them One of them is not straight. Is there a reason for this. I am glad you survived COVID-19. Will be working on the peppermint.
