oh yeah, that thing's a beast. I bet that is a really good option because it has the gnar factor and the clean blend. I gotta try one out.

The grunge was my first pedal back in the 90s. I had a 606 with individual outs and I thought it sounded good on that kick. It's pretty crazy on the whole mix, but it's different at least. I liked the opamp muff kick sound here a lot.
@BounceChord8 күн бұрын
@@BCThunderthud yeah the muff is great on the low end stuff. Grunge is so much better than people seem to think. I don’t know about this application. Maybe it would work for snares but it’s a cool pedal and makes for a unique drive on guitar.

A Boss Line Selectpr Ls-2 pedal might be a great addition for you. lets you put a mix of clean signal and any pedal you want. Or two pedals in parallel. I've had fun with delay pedal and my Arturia Drumbrute Impact, Quite trippy sounding

I love that idea. I had one years ago but only used it as an effects loop. Barely even scratched the surface.

Nice sounds ! How do you reduce buzz ? Does the shielded cables are helping ?
@BounceChord12 күн бұрын
@@MazHoot decent power supply is probably your best bet. If I was actually recording this for a song I was releasing, I would solo each component and throw a noise gate on each track.
@MazHoot12 күн бұрын
@ don’t you think a noise gate would kill the attack of the kicks ? And also, sorry if it’s a dumb request but can you tell me the name of a good power supply which you would use for recording ? I have actually a iso power plant by harley benton (the buzz are with it, it’s more here if I use my mix table), and nothing else good… I have garbage ones like universal alimentation…
@BounceChord12 күн бұрын
@ shouldn’t kill the attack of your kick since that’s generally the loudest portion of the sound. Also gates can be adjusted to taste. I don’t know that particular power supply but I use Strymon supplies on my boards and a Voodoo Labs 4x for videos like this. Isolated power with plenty of current to cover any pedal is the best way to go. Dirt pedals will always be a little noisy though unless it’s some kind of very gated fuzz. Also I plug that into a Fuhrman EMF canceling power strip. I live in a noisy area though so that may not be necessary for you.
@brynlayton90323 ай бұрын
Have you got noise from a ground loop or just the pedals? Needs compression ideally too. I've been experimenting with a few distortion pedals, but find the better approach is to isolate the kick, distort that, add a noise gate, then compress the bejeesus out of it. It allows the cymbals to shine, otherwise the drum track gets too noisy and off putting.
@BounceChord3 ай бұрын
yeah this is exactly how I would do it if I were recording for a real release. Also I'd likely want a different EQ for each drum element and not rely on the EQ of a pedal. Wasn't using my best power supply for this video so that may have had something to do with it but some of these older pedals are just really noisy too. Thanks for watching!

@BounceChord2 ай бұрын
ooh, that's not a bad idea. I've actually owned and gotten rid of both those pedals, but I do have some weird stuff I should try. If you feel like scrolling way down through my Shorts, I've go a vid with envelope filter on this drum machine.

@@BounceChord i've tried to incorporate a few pedals into my dawless setup, but most of 'em just don't do enough to justify messing with em. i mean, i get it, they're not designed for drum machines. but there's gotta be some cool mixes. octave might be cool..maybe Bitcrusher...boss slicer.
@BounceChord2 ай бұрын
@@baltimoreluke Slicer sounds too weird for drum machine but maybe it’s amazing. I’ll definitely try that. As far as dawless, I think the move is to get a mixer with a couple aux sends so you mix a certain amount of effects into each instrument.
