That is a wonderful machine Chris and a sound investment. I remember 45 years ago sandinging by hand, inch thick planks of oak from an old wardrobe to make furniture of my own and it was horse work. That drum sander will be so useful. Good luck with the workshop extension which will be a vital part of your re-jigging process. My workshop is on the first floor so if I extended it would jut out into thin air! Just a thought if I may Chris, if you put an outlet for your small vac to plug into in the cover over where the fine residue collects it could remove that at the same time as you vac from the drum with the big vac. Ear defenders needed though :)

Thank you Eryk. Now a days, we have all these wonderful machines that make life so much easier, but, I can't help but think that maybe they have taken away the hand made personal touch of woodworking. And as for the outlet on top, you must have read my mind. I'm going to 3d print a piece that will fit on top to take an extra hose. Cheers mate, and I hope you are keeping well. 👍👍

Great review. I had the same problem with my band saw, it was way too heavy for me to lift onto the base, so i laid it down and bolted the base on then lifted it all upright! Was still heavy, but a lot easier to lift. Clicked my fingers raw, but no one turned up! Cheers

Thanks Michael, we thought about that method, but opted instead for what you saw on the video. Thankfully Rob appeared when I needed him. Cheers mate. 👍👍

You’re tempting me mate. I’ve thought of getting a drum sander in the past but didn’t think it fit into my workflow. I could always reconsider 🤣 what model is that one?
@BuiltByChris2 жыл бұрын
The model number on the machine is "SWD-460-Z". It has 1500 watts of power. It's not up on the Timbecon website yet, as it is a brand new model. Hope that helps. 👍
