I got to shake this guys hand and talk to him back in 2001. He even signed his 4-way Independence VHS for me :) ah the memories.

In Casiopea and that the top of his craft since the 80s, through Jimsaku and many solo projects with musicians like Frank Gambale, Otmaro Ruiz, Abraham Laboriel just to name a few. About 50 years old here, messed up hands, still crushing it. Akira Jimbo is one of a kind.
Awesome...... you Sir , are a great drummer wicked left hand technique (any tips you'd like to share with us mortal drummers ? ) thanks for posting this video
It doesn't have to be perfect! God damn it! Would you guys stop it with the so called "Professional criticism"? Grab some sticks, sit down and try to create your own. We are all individually different. Just respect this man's expression!

When you see famous drummers nowadays, they're just a neat drummer with some good power and adequate technique. Par on par with this guy's skill, I don't think they can do it. Especially when he did solo while his left foot doing some clave pattern. Amazing independent skill!

Phenomenal playing. Reminds me some of John French.
Is this guy a sibling of the Vietnamese Army Commander who shows up in Stallone's famous Rambo II movie, and who got shot with Stallone's archery bow in the fall valley?
Does he sweat at all? Well, maybe at the last 30 seconds.

I know, but I thought it doesn't apply for their endorsers. Obviously he has one of those old snares with his name on him. If I were him, I'd never change that snare for this one. I mean, I don't think it is forbiden for the artists to use discontinued products. That snare was all way better... I can't understand why Yamaha did that... Is awful.
