I saw this when it first came out and I'd never seen him play before. First thing that hit me was how awesome the kit sounded, then how creative he was. Reminds me a lot of Mario Duplantier from Gojira.

Excellent drumming. He can do the death metal thing, but this song really highlights much more dynamic and orchestrated playing. Very refreshing.
@mattv26353 жыл бұрын
Ive always thought he was a step above most death metal drummers because he adds as much dynamics and orchestration as he can within the genre. Yes he’s brutal and fast, but he writes drum SONGS, not just spaces filled with blasts. He’s like the Dave Grohl of death metal drummers.

@@KvltKrist it's true. a lot of people could do this if they had the same kind of drive and persistence to do it. But few do. Talent might give you a bit of a headstart but the hard workers always gonna catch up at some point if you think you can be lazy. Now the one's to be feared are the one's that are very talented and also very hard working. Eg. Donati. If he'd be a boxer or in some type of competittive sport, he'd be unbeatable

Seriously! Metal and Jazz are the melting pots of anything music. In both genres you can add anything tastefully and it will probably work well. Such creative genres. When people say I hate metal or jazz I just tell them they don't understand complex music because they're small-brainedlol.
@liliIiliIilil3 жыл бұрын
I think that you can really fuse anything if you're creative enough, but it's a lot easier with stellar examples, like in metal. Old school video games like Earthbound, among others, were making fully electronic jazz and prog in the 80's and 90's. Of course, that was due to hardware limitations, but that doesn't change that the hotel theme in Earthbound was literally an electronica/bossa nova fusion.
