Saw him live last year, but he was has the frontman playing the guitar, and they got another brand new drummer. This guy is a true role model for any metalhead that has a band, he is able to swap between the positions, this is completely amazing. And of course, the entire band is impressive, I got amused by the whole atmosphere that they can create during a live show.

It is really good that you talked about leaning forward. Iirc they had to cancel shows, because Francesco got lower back problems. You should address these things more often as these issues are often overlooked by many musicians, not just drummers. It is by no means badmouthing someone. Btw that's why i really like John Longstreth from Origin, he looks so relaxed while playing.

Awesome analysis, good catch on the lower back issue. Insane heel-toe to be that consistent at 270, where any mistakes will be highlighted by the triggers immensely. I'd love to see some analysis of Travis Orbin (his Unleash the Pwnies video to fit the theme of your channel) or Alex Rudinger (Inexhaustible Savagery or Tethys, maybe even Xenochrist). This series is awesome!

I talked with the bassist of this band after a show at the summer slaughter fest back in like 2011 or 2012, the bassist told me the drummer had only been playing drums for like 3 years at the time when this was filmed, dude is a monster.

Derek or George Kollias definitely; two ultimate legends of extreme drumming. Derek has many clinic sessions and a modern drummer show or two to pick from -being fair I don't think the video above is him at his technical best; his technique has become more refined as years have gone on

The best of Paoli is that he wasn't the original drummer of the band, he learnt drums circa 2009 I think, releasing Mafia a year later with some serious extreme drumming. He also plays guitar and sings, music it's his cup of tea xD

one of the beast in extreme metal drumming, Francesco Paoli! he plays the guitar as great as his drumming too. Great drummer, great guitarist and great death metal vocalist too. listen to FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE latest album Veleno where he does all 3 of that because both of their guitarists have left the band. kinda disappointed though with them leaving as Paoli now take over the guitar and vox for live performance. hopefully that will be just temporary arrangement and hope to see him back to his drum throne again.

I was a guitarist from age 5 to 18 then I bought a vintage 1972 custom Sonar kit. (Still play it daily at age 44) I still train on the speed bag too.
