At some point, we all must admire just how much Marco resembles a human. I mean, how these aliens get the make-up just right, even the human mannerisms...amazing, yes?
@banishedfromthedwarfplanet5305 жыл бұрын
Lame joke. What would make an alien a particularly good drummer? The drums, like rock and roll itself, were invented by humans. An alien wouldn't just come to this planet and be great on the drums. Go back to sleep with that shit.

And I've always thought of Neil Peart as the greatest drummer of all times!! That is until i saw and Subscribed to to your website channel!! And you Sir,have thought me more than anyone of all my drum instructor's put together!! And I've learned to Appreciate all professional drummer's Abilities to play!!! Marco is not as conventional as dream theatre... He always wants to check out new stuff, and he kinda outperforms any other musicians after a while. He has a song structure memory that is comparable with a photographic memory... Never seen that before. I had his first band in my studio in munich around 1991... He played nearly the whole record without the other musicians in first takes, just to the click, because they were too stoned to keep the time :-)

Dream Theatre does not deserve Minnemann.
@goainge24 жыл бұрын
@@ckimmei956 Yes, they preferred him, but they made the mistake of wanting him exclusively. Dream Theater isn't something you do on the side, it's all or nothing, as they said. But I don't think they considered that might not be enough for him.

I was just t the modern drummer drum fest in nj back in the 90's 98 i think. Marco was a guest, first time playing in the US i beleive.. Dude is an alien. He played a medley of cartoon show songs for his warmup while we were still outsude before the show. Everyone hanging out just shut up and were standing , listening to this craziness. He was the opener for the show and played the first song on his cd "the green mindbomb".. some really good songs. Some slow stuff, some weird sound sample stuffs. Im pretty sure he composes all the music not just the drums.. I listen to marco when i want to hear stuff only maybe 3 people on earth can play lol... most of the time its stuff like Pete ray biggin who just kills it with funk and groove, BUT still has the chops !! Love the vids btw

The strange thing is that Marco wasn't auditioning for the band. It was because of Jordan Rudess's request (they were good friends) that he agreed to appear on the video documentary of the audition. Marco was not into Dream Theater and he didn't know most of their songs. There's an interview where he reveals it. Don't remember the link though.

You've got to listen to The Aristocrats. Probably an allusion on the filthiest joke in history :) An absolute mega power instrumental trio with this guy, Bryan Beller, and Guthrie Govan. Guthrie is so far ahead of any other player out there it's kind of hard to believe he's even human. They play...it's hard to say what they play. It's a mix of many things, fusion one might say. Also I believe one of their records received parental advisory sticker, while containing no lyrics :D
