Those are really, really amazing for the price. I was aware of their custom drums for some time and I'm glad this kit is starting to get recognition abroad!!! A superb Italian product. This is also the very first time I see graduated lug size?! The bass-drums lugs are significantly bigger than the toms's. Interesting! Excellent snare as well.

I used to have a doublebass DS rebel in the maple/beech blend. At first it was a secret blend and then a few years later they revealed it was a maple/beech blend. I mean what the was the point of it being so secret in the first place? X'D. Either way, those shells are no longer available it seems. The build quality of DS is good, but the 10" tom was literally 3-4mm thick, it had no body whatsoever and had a very "boingy" sound, impossible to get a good sound. As the drums got bigger, the shells went thicker. The 12,14,16 toms and 22 kicks sounded great! I don't know anything about the venom series though. Make sure you get your preferred shellthickness and bearingedges before buying, thats my strongest advice.
