Back in 2000 or 2001 I got to watch bozzio and wackerman perform the black page at a drum clinic in folly Beach South Carolina. I'll remember it forever.

Missing Persons is never talked about enough. The records are masterpieces ~ Rhyme and reason being beyond cutting edge electronic pop and masterfully recorded by Bruce Swedien. I get the chills every time I listen. The Color in your life explodes with a bombastic power station drum sound~ Ken Scots genius producing on Spring session m. Please discuss Missing persons more and or make a documentary on this LA pop phenomenon.

I asked a question about MISSING PERSONS on one of Terry's Drum Channel Q&As AND at his in person Masterclass at Drum Channel this past August 31st. We spoke of how each of the 3 MP albums are different from one another. He created his own electronic Drum kit for the album "Rhyme & Reason" because he hated the rigidity of the Simmons pads and how it was bothering his hands and wrists. He doesn't have the kit anymore. When Terry, Dale and Warren reunited Missing Persons in the early 2000s, the tour and reunion could have lasted longer with a more expansive tour and new material but Dale's Marijuana habit and Warren's mood swings turned Terry off. Patrick O'Hearn and Chuck Wild weren't involved in the reunion due to conflicts and other reasons Terry didn't go into detail about. He also didn't go into detail about why Chuck Wild wasn't on their final album, "Color in Your Life" other than it was complicated. I let Terry know that those three Missing Persons albums: Spring Session M, Rhyme & Reason and Color in Your Life stand as my favorite period of his career and creativity. The combination of traditional drumming mixed with his intricate touches stands alone among 80s bands as the absolute best. Had MP continued and not broken up, I really think they would be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today. Terry also spoke how after MP, he pursued a solo career where he would be the drummer and lead singer, kind of like on the MP "Color in Your Life song, "We Don't Know Love at All". He even recorded demos but nothing ever came of it and no label gave him a deal. That's too bad too because his voice and style was cool.

Terry did a clinic about a zillion years ago at Towson University in Maryland and he had the full kit and if memory serves his MP rig and all everyone asked about was the us drag bit so he graciously walked everyone through it. Then he did his thing and there was a technical independence bit that sounded like Jim Chapin studies on steroids. He was so impressive and just the nicest guy. The black page was revisited. So a great clinic I remember right off my head a zillion years later. Thanks Terry! For the old memories and new ones!!

Hey, Terry You say you weren't feeling some of Zappa's more comedy stuff, but you certainly looked like you enjoyed doing Punky's Whips with Dweezil on the wonderful ZPZ live DVD. Incidentally, you and Joe Travers trading licks on that DVD shows how two drummers can be spectacularly good, and so different.
