question- on bars 14 and 15 you say play similar. I've watched 4 other videos of people playing this piece on you tube and they don't play similar, they play the same bar as 13 without a crash. If these bars mean play similar why then on bars 30 and 31 do you play the same bar as 29?

Play similar is at the discretion of the drummer. The easiest way to keep it similar is to take inspiration from the piece itself . I hope that makes sense

I enjoyed that and it was very useful, thanks! I’m not able to resume my face to face lessons yet due to lockdown so this is the first grade 3 piece I’m attempting on my own and it’s such fun! I’d missed the open hi hat b.21 so thanks again for the help!

Have you tried online lessons ? Most of my students are and they will be the first to tell you that they prefer in person .. it's a lot better than no lessons .

@@CarlowDrumming not yet but I may do. I’m spending my lesson money on buying more bits of kit at the moment! I have a rather unusual part-mini drum pad/part acoustic set up but I’m now only really missing the 3 toms..😄.

Really useful lesson, thanks (not sure about it being from the 50's though ;) ). These Grade 3 pieces and exercises seem so much trickier than the previous syllabus!

I'm Woke tho 🤣 have you seen the new syllabus 2020 - 2023 ? Just finished the grade 5 with one of my students and it's no joke 😶
