El Estepario is the best drummer in the world right now., not because he is a showboat, but because he is reinventing drumming. He is doing things with a drum kit that no one has ever done before. Then to top it off El Estepario forms his own group The Cost, which is an insane group with 2 other musicians. I am 56 yrs old Colby from Boston, Massachusetts and some people out there throw hate at him why? Because they don't know great music and talent. El Estepario is the real deal and he is now showcasing his talents everywhere and I have never seen a drummer like him before. We should be so lucky to see the Groovefather do what he does best .

any time he is playing a cover he is adding his own touch on what he might do and usually its not overbearing but then shows actually a better version of it. I see jealous people and haters.. typical in this day and age.

Colby...It's called creative interpretation and he is the absolute master of FEELING the song like a journey and taking us along with percussive narration. Thats why he is sooooo good.The best I ever heard and Im 67... and counting

I was sold the first short i saw like months ago hes a beast and definitely my fav drummer and one of my top KZbinrs to watch honestly the man is the principal of drumming made flesh i mean hes a human drumming god and deserves every bit of praise he receives as well as the respect and he's got mine im a fan always and forever a fan i will be this i promise he's a superbeast on the drums the man never lets you down always impresses me here's to you lord of the drums you rock

He should set up sound for bands. Or at least tell them his secret. The sound he gets is so clean. Wonder how he is able to make the microphones get the sound so crisp when others are not. Or if its just mixing in studio version that do not really care about drums to make them like that.

With a smaller kit one has to "overplay" to make sure the fills and the groove is there. He has a snare , kick drum and a floor tom. Not sure where the "overplay" comes from.

I am not qualified to say who is the best. However EES is, by every source I’ve encountered….the Number One influencer in the game at present. Many reputable teachers and players have stated unequivocally that he has changed drumming….raised the bar.
