Love the Guitar on this, speaking of Acid, yes it changes you forever but it is Russian Roulette, the first time time I took it I was wondering how long it would last, but then time stood still during the trip, but twelve hours later I came out of it and then slept for twelve hours, I only took it twice more I could tell you more but you don't have the time

These blokes only 16, 17 yrs young when they recorded this track. Gone, Try A Little Sunshine, Red Chalk Hill are also bangers.

Gday Lee,hey man what a trip,flashbacks galore,an older hippy mate got me into this in 79,while we were cruising the coast looking for waves,haven't heard this for years,I think that's the reason I got into the Dandy Warhols because it kind of reminded me of this,except I'm not taking copious amounts of drugs and alcohol like back in the old days.Good on you John.

Originally only released in the UK. Nice promo copies can bring around $1,500 in US dollars. Promo copies are more common than stock copies. There is a stock copy on discogs in near mint condition. The seller is in the UK and he is asking approximately $4,500 in US dollars. A cheaper way to go is to get the reissue from several years ago.

This is definitely one of the U.K.'s finest psych-out 45's. I had a chance to grab a copy of the single back in the 90's for £50!, but I thought it was a bit on the expensive side. Good luck on finding, and being able to afford, a copy of this gem! Highly recommend listening to possibly the U.S. equivalent for freak-out/trippy-ness... Dirty Filthy Mud's "Forest Of Black" 45. It's out there man!!
@johnewart1635Ай бұрын
That is awesome- Forest of Black, never heard it before. Found it on You Tube. Really good. I see what you mean to US equivalent of Path Through The Forest. Wish more folk were into 60s psych and rock. Best and most inventive era in rock history. And add on top the folk, rnb, blues and beat scene - 60s were amazing and I was only born in 1968!

@@johnewart1635 Yep John.... it's a killer! Not too sure what was lurking in the forest's back in the 60's. I was also offered a copy of their 45, in it's original art sleeve, back in the 90's, but the guy wanted £250!! That was a months rent for me back then! Both these 45's are my top wants, but I'd hate to think how much they'd be these days.

This is the type of stuff I listened to while smoking wacky weed way back in the day. Now I make pot candy.....smoking is bad for you and all that.....

If you want to hear a nice bit of 1960s psychedelia I STRONGLY recommend Baby Grandmothers "Somebody Keeps Calling My Name".

That is one HEAVY psych jam

The song was written by Clifford T Ward (who had a few 70s hits in the UK) using the pseudonym ‘Rollings’ which was his wife’s maiden name. Cliff’s demo eventually appeared decades later. It’s very slow, sleepy with a Strawberry Fields vibe. The second Factory single was slightly more poppy but is even better. ‘Try a Little Sunshine’, written and sung by John Pantry, a hugely prolific singer, writer, studio engineer etc. Other Brit Psych tracks you should hear: Tintern Abbey Vacuum Cleaner The Accent Red Sky at Night Kaleidoscope Music One In a Million Fredereek Hernando The Craig I Must Be Mad Big Boy Pete Cold Turkey World of Oz Peter’s Birthday Misunderstood I Can Take You To the Sun John’s Children Desdemona Dantalian’s Chariot Madman Running Through the Fields Mike Stuart Span Children of Tomorrow Jason Crest Turquoise Tandem Cycle Wimple Winch Save My Soul Pretty Things Defecting Grey Tomorrow Revolution Caleb Baby Your Phrasing is Bad Timebox Gone is the Sad Man Blossom Toes Look at Me I’m You Les Fleur de Lys Mud in Your Eye and literally hundreds more!

I second all those songs. I'll add the other 2 excellent Factory song snot mentioned, 'Gone' and 'Red Chalk Hill' (all 4 are great). I will also add must to listen UK psych tracks Mr Evasion - Pretty Things, My White Bicycle - Tomorrow and Scream Thy Last Scream - Pink Floyd. So glad you mentioned Fredereek Hernando by One In a Million, what a track that is. Glad you liked Path Through The Forest Lee, it's one of the very best 60s psych tracks. And forgot Snowman by Tintern Abbey - check that out and My Love Is Like A Spaceship by Big Boy Pete + Dantelions Chariot - World War III. Many 100s more songs like this as we say. It's an ever expanding rabbit hole especially the UK 60s psych and freakbeat scene. Procol Harums 60s albums and singles are superb too. And for US psych one of my favourites is House of Glass by The Glass Family.

@@johnewart1635yeah well I ran the Marmalade Skies website for years. It’s still up though i haven’t done anything to it in ages. Too busy doing radio shows. Won’t let me add the link but never mind.

Another superb track US this time is Boil The Kettle Mother - The ID. This track features the Wrecking Crew. Some point I will request some Velvet Underground, especially from White Light White Heat album. Their rawest sound and best album IMO.

This is a great jam. I love it and never heard of the group. You should listen to The Litter's "Blue Ice (Remastered)". It's an awesome Psychedelic Metal song from 1970.

Reminds me of The Dylans, "Grudge". Interestingly, I've only been able to find one recording online, and it's left ear only, so, useless! Weird.
