At the last Pink Floyd event that I went to was the division bell tour in the early 90s about the same time as this. There were old folks like me there were hippies, young folks, children people in business suits it was truly an event. Everybody was happy. My pulse CD was still flashing after years and then I put a new battery in it and flashed for more years

Nobody puts on a live Show like Floyd! This 1994 World Tour was "The Division Bell" World Tour, this show at Earls Court in London is called the Pulse Concert, it is one of the last shows of the tour. The tour ran from March to October, there were something like 110 shows, in over 60 cities in 17 countries. Do you know the story of the stage, or should I say the 3 identical stages that leapfrogged across North American? Floyd had the 3 stages built for this tour, not only 3 stages, but 3 of everything! The stages, sound systems, the rigs, the gear, the lighting etc., there was 3 of everything used in North America. Because of the time involved in load in, and setup, (3 full days), and then tear down and load out, (2 and a half days), they absolutely needed 3 of everything to perform all of the shows that were booked in North America. It was the largest Rock concert to that point in time 700 tons of steel, using 60 trailer trucks with a crew of like 120 people, it was a MASSIVE tour! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Wall" album was released in 1979 and the American tour started in 1980. This was another massive Show, it was so massive logistically and economically that they performed only 12 Concerts in the US in 1980, 6 on the west and 6 on the east coast. I was fortunate enough to get tickets to one of the six Shows on the east coast, the venue for these Shows was The Nassau Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale NY, on Long Island. "The Wall" concert was the most incredible, phenomenal Show/Concert/Play/Performance, I have ever witnessed in all my 68 years of life!

Hi L33 - I watched an interview with Guy Pratt where he was talking about the audition/interview for becoming part of their live show when they started back up again, and then eventually the band....and the only thing David got him to do was sing his parts for this song... It's all he had to do.. he had to go back a second time to prove he can do it again...but that's how he got the gig. Oh yes.. I was at Earls Court for this show.... hehe.. All you could say about this experience was that you floated out of the hall saying to yourself "Okay, I am never going to see anything to top that".. and it's true., I haven't, Sorry L33, Keep on Rockig young sir.

What a show that was. I went to many concerts before and since the Division Bell tour, and nothing even came close. The sound was as clean as a $100,000 audiophile's home stereo. I was lucky to be living right behind TOWER RECORDS at the time where Ticketron or some other seller had a booth. The line was insane. The show sold out on me while I was still inline with 200 people in front of me, but I found a person walking out who bought extras tickets and who sold me three for $70 each. THANK YOU whomever you were. BTW, the stage did not glow like it did in the video. The lighting was much sharper. That effect is glare on the cameras that we did not see with our naked eyes.

I saw this tour in Chicago at Soldier Field. During the finale you fully expected the entire apparatus would either launch itself into space or implode in on itself in some spectacular Star Warsee fashion. The lights were so bright you could not look directly at the stage. The sound so loud folks were covering their ears with eyes that looked like saucers (Well, at least those that still had pupils left if you know what I mean). 🚬 The explosions, fireworks that went high into the night sky, a million decibels of surround sound amplified guitar greatness, and a little bit of thunder and lightning in the night sky to complete the package, and we're talking a sensory overload that actually took days if not weeks to fully recover from. Kinda on the order of PTSD... but a much happier form. The concert was on a weekday, I want to say Wednesday. No way was I going to make it into work the next morning. How do you go to sleep after that. P S the stage never did explode... can't say the same for the majority of the audience that was there that night. Blown away!! 🤯

I saw Pink Floyd only one time, but it was for this "Division Bell" tour when they came to the New Orleans Superdome in May of '94. So I saw most of this concert (just a different venue and 5 months earlier). However, they did not play the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" like they did for the Earls Court concert as seen in PULSE. I bought the 2-disc laserdisc release of PULSE when it was originally released to laserdisc and VHS the summer of 1995. Then the DVD when it was finally released 11 years later.

Hi Roger played the Wall 1990 in Berlin. Fun Fact, he was asked in an Interview if he would perform The Wall again on a Stage and he said, if the Wall in Berlin comes down, he would perform The Wall again, more like a joke, at that Time nobody thought the Berlin Wall could ever be removed and that Germany could ever be united. But the Cold War ended and he did it. I was there ! That was one of the most important Day in my Life. Greetings from Germany. BTW i like your canal and your reactions.

Gilmour is a down to earth gentleman. He's a huge contributor to climate change organizations, his latest work includes his daughter, he brings street performers to play with him, he goes into NYC delis with Polly with no fanfare or better-than-you approach. He brought Richard Wright and Nick Mason back to perform in spite of Waters and the bitter battles.

I was at one of them. They sold out that massive venue for 18 nights.

In Houston, this was the song they ended early with due to weather. Unfortunately, the storm had passed by the time we got to our vehicles. The of the left handed side backdrop of the stage was damaged as part of the reasoning I suspect. A month later in New Orleans at the Superbowl was awesome with ticket prices with decent seats were roughly $75 a pop. Don't quote me on the totals as that was 30 years ago.

The Pink Floyd Album The Wall was released in 1979, it had nothing to do with the Berlin Wall until Roger decided to link the fall of the Berlin Wall by performing the album live in Berlin.

Best live track for me - I saw it 4x ❤ More Syd! More Gilmour solo! Also Rick’s best song and best piano: “Summer 68” The motherlode is the studio version of The Wall in 1979. The album.
