jan van impe the last sentence of the song "when all else fails,we can whip the horse's eyes and make them sleep and cry" is a reference to one of jim' favorite philosopher's: friedrich Nietsche, who witnessed a killing of a horse.After that ,he became insane and died in an asylum.Maybe jim wanted to say: when all pleasure or meaning is gone,the only thing left to do is become insane, lose all control and "break on through to the other side".

jan van impe suggestions: 1/the 2 remaining albums: "morisson hotel", "LA Woman" 2/the live album "live in Pittsburg 1970(with a 22 minute version of when the music's over" (according to the setlist it's only 17 minutes,but the song continues until the soft parade vamp, and it has many new lyrics, existentional screaming) 3/Who do you love (live) 4/"SHIPS W/SAILS" from their first album (Other voices) after Jim died.:this song has the same structure as riders on the storm, but the melody is far more beautiful. 5/the poetry album (1978) "American prayer"

yes, quite well too. usually 6-7 a night. 8 if im lucky. i always have to be up by 10AM for the premieres even though im up till 2am posting everything.
