That's one of the Generation X splashes

It looks to be (just going from Matt's Instagram here) a Byzance Dark Splash on top paired with a Generation X Filter China on the bottom, both by Meinl.

Am I the only one thinks Mr. Halpern looks suspiciously similar to a certain Bill Goldberg

This is one of the worst Halpern videos I've seen. Heavy handed. Periphery and Periphery 2 this guy was all about subtleties, now it's just overplaying and wailing on brass.

I think you have that backwards, my friend. The New double albums showcase his "subtle" nuances a lot better than their old stuff. Still fucking love the old stuff though!

xslaythefleshx uhhh...not really. Periphery 3 showcases their subtleties best. Periphery 1 had programmed drums, so good joke. Periphery 2, which this is from, takes their technical side to nigh masturbatory levels. That was pretty much a shred album. And as good as these guys may be, Matt has always been a little heavy handed. It's a goddamn metal band, you might wanna get used to it.

You missed the point. Just because it's a metal album doesn't mean it needs to lack musicianship. If you play any instrument this should be easily identifiable and especially with drummers in rock/metal groups things like dynamics and parts that complement the music as a whole vs. only one part are fewer and further between. Matt is one of the best ones out there at bridging that gap. And thanks bro. I'll buy some more metal albums so I can get more used to it. brb

many of the songs on p2 have programmed drums. including this song.
