I love Jerod’s character arc in this video. He doesn’t think he’ll do all of it at 0:15, but realizes what he’ll do at 2:45, and comes to terms with it at 3:56. He completely embraces it at 9:57, and the rest is just jamming.

The fact that this man can just play what he does on a whim without any prior practice of the song he’s going into as well as keeping an eye on the chat and conversing with his fans while playing is astounding. As a drummer first and guitarist second, I can tell you that when you've been playing drums for most of your life it becomes very easy to multitask over a simple beat. You'll notice he's largely just keeping time whenever he's talking to chat. Drumming at its most simple is far easier to talk over than guitar at its most simple. Not to trivialize what Jerod does, because he's better at it than anyone I've seen, but I can see how he's been able to build his career off of it and I admit im a little jealous lol

It is much easier to freestyle and jam over a song that you're incredibly familiar with, especially if it's something really nostalgic for you. He brings this up in a way at 12:14 where he was so in sync with the song he recalled this small fill section naturally despite probably not even remembering to prepare for it offhand. He doesn't have to be completely tuned in because his nostalgia and memories are doing the heavy lifting for him which is probably why he started to realize at the start how much fun and relaxing it would be to just jam along to all these nostalgic themes.

I'm kinda the same, I did have Brawl but I was young and didn't even understand what a "Smash Bro" was, so I played it a bit and didn't go back. Then, after understanding it better, I got Smash for 3DS on my birthday one year, and now Ultimate is actually in my top 10 games of all time. I still regret never finishing Subspace Emissary, I really need to do that this summer with quarantine and all that.

Listening to all of these Main Menu Theme from the Super Smash Bros. takes me WAY back in the past in my younger days growing up! The Super Smash Bros. series is one of the series that actually got me started into playing more video games (mainly Nintendo games) and taking the time to appreciate the beauty and enjoyment of life! I like the 3DS menu theme better than the Wii U. Besides the lower quality, because they had to be able to fit it on the 3DS and stuff, I like how it ends, and starts again. Kind of like Melee's theme, it ends somewhat abruptly, then restarts. But the Wii U is also really good, for it's higher quality, and the last minute of it is so nostalgic for me.
