I was blown away by this song when I first heard it, and after listening and analyzing the song multiple times, what amazes me is that the song has A LOT of key changes yet still sounded seamless the whole way though. If anyone's curious, here's the key analysis (timestamps are from the Cry Baby MV): - Intro (0:00-0:09): G Minor (borrowing harmonic minor) - Verses (0:09-0:23, 1:36-2:26): F Minor - Pre-chorus (0:23-0:48, 2:26-2:50): D Minor - Chorus (0:48-1:36, 2:50-end): D Major, transitioning to Db Major four measures in (3:33-3:43 has a brief E Major moment) All in all, there were like 10 key changes throughout the song and the only one I noticed in my first hearing was at the very last chorus. Anyway, thank you for reacting to this song! If I have to recommend another anime song, I recommend listening to "Asphyxia" by Cö Shu Nie from the Tokyo Ghoul re: soundtrack since I bet you're gonna have a fun time with that song's complexity hehe. 💛💛

the constant modulations in this song really work with the show/manga - the main premise is the main character jumping through different timelines to stop another guy taking over a gang who kill his childhood sweetheart, and it flip flops between the present and different pasts. i thought it was really cool how the song jumped through different keys similar to how the main character jumps through timelines. official hige dandism are amazing!

Tokyo revengers is basically about a guy going back in time in his teenage era to join a gang, while trying to prevent it from turning into a mafia that killed his ex girlfriend in the future. Everytime he goes back, the future changes, explaining why there are so much code modulation in this song.

First time on the channel. This song took you by surprise, just like it did me! I heard it for the first time just yesterday, and I can't stop playing it! I think this song relates perfectly to the story. I watched some episodes and even if not many I got a very strong feeling about what's going on. I think the song has five main words you can relate it to: Nostalgia, Regret, Grieving, Darkness and Hope. Those words represent different sounds i've heard that resonate to me. I feel like the song really conveys the message of the main character trying his best to amend his wrong doings in the past by going back and getting everything fine to avoid the "bad end" as the song says in part. So it's a song about working hard through your main goal. It's bitter sweet because of how many things have happend so I really feel both motivated and also about to cry with this song. It's a real feels trip.

Seeing how you loved this, you should check out Mixed Nuts by the same band. It's the opening to Spy X Family. I think you will really love that one! It's a high tempo jazzy type of song with lots of brass, and drums. And the bass lines are killer! Love your break downs! You are one of the few reactors who I don't mind when you pause and go back cause you actually give breakdowns on what you hear! There is a whole world, as you know, of amazing anime songs! Look forward to more!

Tokyo Revengers is about a guy who has to travel back in time to his childhood in order to stop someone from taking over a gang which eventually leads to his girlfriends death in the future. Its completely filled to the brim with dramatic twists and pacing shifts and I really think the intro echoes that. Its fast and intense but then it can slow down and become sombre whilst the main character struggles with this conflict. The lyrics also match the show pretty perfectly,. Awesome breakdown as usual man, thanks for reacting to this.

I know I'm late, but the Japanese say this group name like Hee Gay Dahn. From my understanding, the band wants to stay together until they can grow old man beards. Hige is beard in Japanese and dan is kind of like a sound effect or onomatopoeia that can mean something gradually appearing over time. Interestingly if you say dan with force, it means the complete opposite (something appears suddenly). Love the channel Tony, keep it up.

Ay, nice video, if you lack anything to watch, I recommend Ado. She is one of the big stars in Japan (if not the biggest) right now, who sang the songs in the new One Piece film

Some time travel in the show going back in time to joins the gang that killed his first love to save her, and save everyone he can. The cry baby has the most courage despite his ability.

Could you react to Eve - Inochi No Tabekata, Eve - Tokyo Ghetto and Eve - Dramaturgy? He's the same artist as the opening for Jujutsu Kaisen, which you've reacted to and liked a lot. His songs have great writing and production and you'd have a lot to dissect. Look forward to one day seeing you react to Eve!

Tokyo revengers is about time travel so a song that messes with timing this much makes sense
