very dark lyrics. I always thought it was, "with the money I saved - gonna buy my youth again" as in, he's gonna give it one last impulsive shot at the moon, packing in the factory job and just laying down the rubber road to freedom, like the Toecutter.

the finest example of Aussie Rock you will ever see, Cold Chisel, so many talented men performing like a well oiled machine. as the guys said, when they are on stage at the same time, something magical always happens. one of the biggest reasons why i love Cold Chisel, certainly one of the greatest live acts we have ever produced.

"Bow River. A small outpost between Kununurra and Hall's Creek, the term river being an exaggeration - it's actually a very small creek. Written by lan Moss, who grew up in Alice Springs, Bow River is a song about the desert and the tropical rain and its hold on the men who live there. Ironically, although a son of the territory, Moss had never been to Bow River, however his brother Peter, a roadie for the group in the early years, worked there."

Working at Holdens (Elizabeth where Chisel started) "Wastin' my days on a factory floor" "I don't wanna see another engine line" On the river Murray near Adelaide is a place called Bow Hill? Ian Moss was from the NT so I guess the following lines make sense in the following context. "But only six days separates me and the great top end" "Goin' for the heat babe, and the tropical rain" A bit of poetical license and I reckon thats about it.
