This guy is amazing. I've been playing for 50 years, and I can't imagine ever playing this well. And I played professionally at the age of 16. It's crazy how far technology, and people (drumming excellence), have come in my lifetime. RIP Jeff Porcaro

This guy has some great technique. I've watched 4 other reviews, and no one was able to get any real control or dynamics happening on the hi hats except this guy. I've read that you need to play around with the settings a lot tonget the high hats to work. They are trash out of the box apparently. I played them in a store and the hi hats were not aet up properly/sound hadnt been mastered at all, really shit compared to the rest of the kit. Watching this video gives me hope that with good technique and the right settings the high hats are not a let down.

Ok the video and the demo are great !!! The material is great too. But one question: what is the noise level when empty? (the drummer uses headphones for example, what noise for the neighbors?)
@Multicontemplator19 күн бұрын
I know you asked this two years ago but I'll answer now anyway. I have this kit myself and its fairly quiet. Obviously you make noise since you are smacking stuff with drumsticks but unless your walls are particularly thin I would be surprised if your neighbors could hear anything. And if they could it wouldn't be a very disruptive noise. They only caveat to that is the kick drum. It can make quite a thump when you really hit it. Still not very loud but certainly louder than the rest of the kit. The "tennis ball" style head they showed in this video could go a long way to reducing that noise.

the worst part of this particular one is the rack because kick has to go in the middle(annoying if you've got lots of upgrades,extra cymbal floor stands ,amp speaker etc) and because of that you're forced to have hihat in specific place if you use double bass pedal.also cymbal rack mounting is a joke,straight booms with balls at the end,no arms ,no nothing.So you end up being very limited with set up options unless you do some upgrades to hardware like I did and have extra floor stands for cymbals so I can mount toms differently and have 3 in line above snare,2nd hihat on the right too..pdx 120 is NOT great as a snare(hot spot ,and rim shots problem)so I replaced it with PD-125BK and use ex snare as 4th (floor) tom.Other than that it's a great kit that will last you for years if you keep it updating(software wise) and take your time to tune it to your liking,Don't expect it to sound great out of the box,It won't happen.Happy drumming everyone

Ralf awesome as always. Not liking the stock kits. Mimic has spoiled me.

Thanks Randal! Man I agree on the Mimic, kind of an unfair comparison though ;-D kind regards!

@@drumtecTV You're very welcome. I love the way you play.😀

whats your opinion against the previous model?
@drumtecTV2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mario, the new thin cymbal models are really nice I think, I prefer them over the older more "bulky" models. And the new kit compression feature on the module is a little game changer for sounds too. Kind regards!

Where are the cables
@drumtecTV2 жыл бұрын
Hey David, they are there in the video, why? :)

I was not sure perhaps it went wireless - thank you

@@davidrosen9711 I think in the thumbail there actually aren't any because it looked "cleaner" 😀 but you can really hide the cables nicely by attaching them to the rack. Kind regards!

Meh. the module sounds still sound very digital to me. would still use Toontrack Ezdrummer 3.

The acoustic sound pack from drumtech does make a big difference if you get it as I agree some of the default kits don’t sound great.
